    摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of treating an aqueous solution containing impurities including a perfluoroalkyl substance and/or a polyfluoroalkyl substance, comprising introducing the aqueous solution into a batch or semi-batch photocatalytic reactor with a microparticulate catalyst configured to reduce chain length of the perfluoroalkyl substance and/or polyfluoroalkyl substance, forming a treated aqueous stream, the reactor including a catalyst flow controller configured to automatically increase the catalyst concentration in the reactor while agitating the catalyst-containing solution during reaction, and removing catalyst particles from the treated aqueous stream to form a purified aqueous stream. In some cases, the feed to the reactor is atomized. Corresponding systems also are disclosed.

    摘要: This invention provides a method, system, and computer program to visualize texture (crystal orientation distribution) heterogeneity in polycrystalline aggregate part in large length scale. This is a critical representation step for microstructure characterization, useful in effective behavior simulation, risk analysis and hotspot identification. In contrast to orientation image map where each color component represents a crystal orientation, each color in this macrotexture map represents a set of texture. Different color represent different texture and similar texture shall have similar color. This method will provide a critical tool in evaluating texture heterogeneity of components, leading to a first-hand understanding of property heterogeneity and anisotropy. For an experienced user, these maps serve the same purpose in identifying high risk locations in the investigated component as medical imaging maps do for diagnosis purpose. This method will also serve as a starting point in mesoscale simulation with meshing sensitivity based on the texture heterogeneity. It will provide a bridge between texture characterization and behavior simulation of component with texture heterogeneity. This method will also offer a linkage between crystal plasticity simulation in small length scale and finite element/difference simulation in large length scale.

    摘要: The present invention provides an educational or entertainment system capable of activating audio, web-based streaming or flash video presentations from designated portions of a printed surface containing visual images, comprising a surface containing a plurality of discrete, visually colored zones which code for particular presentations, each of said colored zones being overlaid by or surrounded by a zone of invisible fluorescent substance which can be detected by the use of light outside the visible spectrum and means for detecting the same. The system further includes a portable reader comprising: (i) a sensor pipe, (ii) a means for directing a first beam of light within the visible spectrum, located within the sensor pipe and a means for directing a second beam of light, also within the visible spectrum, located within the sensor pipe, (iii) a detector for detecting light emanating from said invisible fluoprescent substance when light outside the visible spectrum impinges upon it and for detecting light reflected from the visually colored zones, (iv) a means activated by the detector when light emanating from said invisible substance is detected which causes the reader to emit said second beam of light, and (v) means for playing audio, web-based or flash video presentations coded by the visually colored zones when light of a particular wavelength within the visible spectrum is reflected from a visually colored zone and detected.
