Abstract:
A configuration system is organized with a configuration file for each node in an application hierarchy. Each configuration file includes one or more directives for applying a configuration setting to a node. Each configuration setting is associated with one or more objects that define properties of the configuration setting. The properties define rules for the configuration setting such as inheritance, persistence, validation, merging, and the like. Defining rules for each configuration setting in an object allows the configuration settings to be declaratively extended and edited without requiring user to have knowledge of the underlying hierarchy.
Abstract:
An application program interface may be used to construct a three-dimensional (3D) scene of 3D models defined by model 3D objects. The interface has one or more group objects and one or more leaf objects. The group objects contain or collect other group objects and/or leaf objects. The leaf objects may be drawing objects or an illumination object. The group objects may have transform operations to transform objects collected in their group. The drawing objects define instructions to draw 3D models of the 3D scene or instructions to draw 2D images on the 3D models. The illumination object defines the light type and direction illuminating the 3D models in the 3D scene. A method processes a tree hierarchy of computer program objects constructed with objects of the application program interface. The method traverses branches of a 3D scene tree hierarchy of objects to process group objects and leaf objects. The method detects whether the next unprocessed object is a group object of a leaf object. If it is a leaf object, the method detects whether the leaf object is a light object or a drawing 3D object. If the leaf object is a light object, the illumination of the 3D scene is set. If a drawing 3D object is detected, a 3D model is drawn as illuminated by the illumination. The method may also performs a group operation on the group of objects collected by a group object.
Abstract:
A system forms search results clustered by address or telephone number. When clustering by address, the system may receive a search query and identify a geographical area of interest based, at least in part, on the search query. The system may identify documents that are associated with addresses located within the geographical area of interest, group the identified documents into clusters based, at least in part, on the addresses located within the geographical area of interest, and present the clusters as the search results. When clustering by telephone number, the system may receive a search query that includes at least one portion of a telephone number and identify documents that are associated with telephone numbers that match the at least one portion of the telephone number. The system may group the identified documents into clusters based on the telephone numbers included in the identified documents and present the clusters as the search results.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an athletic brace in which the brace and a protective attachment are secured together as a single, unitary piece without stitching or glue. The protective attachment can have an intricate shape to fit around a moving body part, thereby permitting the therapeutic and protective use of braces that could not be achieved before. The protective attachment is anatomically secured in relation to a selected body part, and may provide control to an unstable joint, decrease stress to an over-worked tendon, provide pain relief to a sore muscle, and pad the area against impact that could cause further damage. An alternative embodiment of the present invention provides for a cushioned protective attachment on the brace to be protected by a protective shell brace.
Abstract:
Among other disclosures, a method may include collecting historical communication data, personal data and usage statistics relating to a portion of a plurality of communications, a sender of one or more of the communications or one or more recipients of the communications. The method may include depositing the collected data into a repository. The method may include presenting the usage statistics in response to user behavior.

Among other disclosures, a method may include collecting historical communication data and personal data relating to a portion of a plurality of communications, a sender of one or more of the communications or one or more recipients of the communications. The method may include depositing the collected data into a repository of historical communication data and personal data. The method may include customizing an electronic communication based on one or more items in the repository, in response to user behavior.
Abstract:
A multi-sensory feedback learning system is provided for helping children learn outside of the classroom. The system includes a depressible game controller mat that is in communication with a monitor or television. Housed within the controller mat are components necessary to store and run a learning video game. Games involving alphabetical characters, numerical characters, and foreign languages are available for children to play via the system. Prompts are displayed on the monitor or audibly through a monitor coupled audio feedback device. Children respond to the prompt by depressing alphanumeric indicia on the controller mat, thereby making answer selections. Feedback on answers is provided in the form of visual, audible, and tactile output from the system. Correct answers are rewarded with points, and a child's total score can be tracked for progress comparison.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving a search query, identifying a document based on the search query, and providing a search result based on the document. The search result includes, for example, an image associated with the document, an excerpt from the document that is associated with the search query, and links to other excerpts in the document that are associated with the search query. The method may also include providing other information associated with the document.
