Abstract:
A filter for a fluid system includes a housing having an interior cavity. A filter media is disposed in the housing and defines a central opening. A center tube assembly is arranged within the central opening and includes discs which are stackable upon one another. Each disc includes a central portion having base received by an inner wall of the central portion of the adjacent disc. An outer portion extends radially outwardly from the central portion and is positioned adjacent to the filter media. The central portion, base, and outer portion may include openings to permit the flow of fluid through the center tube assembly. The center tube assembly provides the desired structural integrity while permitting fluid to flow through the center tube. The present invention center tube assembly may be produced by a plastic molding process.
Abstract:
Data is written to and read from a shared pipe by applications of multiple systems. At least one shared pipe is located within an external shared memory coupled to one or more central processing complexes. Each of the central processing complexes has one or more operating system images, which controls execution of one or more piping applications. At least one piping application corresponding to at least one operating system image writes data to a shared pipe located in the external shared memory and at least one other application corresponding to one or more other operating system images reads data from the same shared pipe, thereby providing cross-system data piping.

Abstract:
A method and system are provided for executing a service processor request within a data processing system having one or more processors within a central processing complex, each of the processors within the central processing complex including allocatable processor resources. Each of the processors within the central processing complex is provided with the capability of processing selected service processor requests by reserving a portion of the allocatable processor resources within each of the processors for such purpose. A service processor request within the central processing complex is initially processed utilizing at least one of the processors in response to receiving a service processor request, if sufficient processor resources are available to process the service processor request within the reserved portion of the allocatable resources. Alternatively, the service processor request is transmitted to an external processing complex, if insufficient processor resources are available to process the service processor request within the reserved portion of the allocatable resources.
Abstract:
Touchscreen testing techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a piece of conductor (e.g., metal) is positioned as proximal to a touchscreen device and the touchscreen device is tested by simulating a touch of a user. This technique may be utilized to perform a variety of different testing of a touchscreen device, such as to test latency and probabilistic latency. Additional techniques are also described including contact geometry testing techniques.
Abstract:
A portable, foldable one piece device that attaches to an automobile steering wheel as a holder for a variety of electronic or non-electronic devices. A clear vinyl pocket can hold notebook computers, electronic reading devices, fire and police command boards, clipboards, books, newspapers, keeping them completely visible. The durable single piece, washable construction has no moving parts. It can be folded and easily stored on the visor of a vehicle. Hook and loop fastener is sewn to the device for added utility. Accessories can be added to these fasteners such as writing utensils, note pads, lights, pictures, or other personal or work related items. A small pocket is sewn alongside the larger clear pocket for storage as well. The device can be mounted to the passenger side dash with additional hook and loop fasteners. The device is not for use while the vehicle is operating.
Abstract:
A method that builds a chain-of-custody for archived data is disclosed to ensure the integrity and reliability of the archived data. In one implementation, by using a certified Time Stamp Authority (TSA), an indelible record of each time the archived data is touched (e.g. created, stored, retrieved, accessed, tested, moved, or transformed) is generated to build verifiable links between events to ensure the custody of the data can be audited and verified that it has remained intact throughout its lifetime. The chain-of-custody, in combination with the storage architecture that ensures archive data has not changed through various software and hardware means (e.g., multiple hash signatures to ensure integrity, timestamp authorities to pinpoint each time the archived data was touched, location information to pinpoint physical location, and coordinated chain of custody on multiple replicas of the digital artifact) validates that the archived data has not changed since it was archived.
Abstract:
An automotive fluid filter comprises a plurality of pellets that are sintered together and define a plurality of pores therebetween for passage of automotive fluid through the pores so as to filter the automotive fluid when the automotive fluid is advanced therethrough. An associated method is disclosed.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge includes a filter media having opposed edges. Annular end discs include first and second surfaces defined by spaced apart planes. The end discs has an integrated gasket, and is formal from includes first and second plastisol materials that have different durometers. The durometer of the second plastisol material makes it more rigid than the first plastisol material. The first plastisol material provides a flexible gasket. During manufacture, each edge of the filter media is embedded into the second material on an end disc. The second plastisol material is arranged between the planes, and the first plastisol material extends axially away from the second surface.
