摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for recycling lead-acid batteries, and more specifically, relates to purifying and recycling the lead content from lead-acid batteries. A system includes a reactor that receives and mixes a lead-bearing material waste, a carboxylate source, and a recycled liquid component to form a leaching mixture yielding a lead carboxylate precipitate. The system also includes a phase separation device coupled to the reactor, wherein the phase separation device isolates the lead carboxylate precipitate from a liquid component of the leaching mixture. The system further includes a closed-loop liquid recycling system coupled to the phase separation device and to the reactor, wherein the closed-loop liquid recycling system receives the liquid component isolated by the phase separation device and recycles a substantial portion of the received liquid component back to the reactor as the recycled liquid component.

摘要: The invention relates to an energy storage system for a vehicle, in particular a starter battery for a vehicle, having a plurality of energy storage cells for providing and/or storing electric energy and a housing which has a plurality of wall elements that delimit the interior of the housing. The housing is designed to receive the plurality of energy storage cells in the interior of the housing. A plurality of separating walls are arranged in the interior of the housing in order to divide the interior of the housing into a plurality of chambers, wherein each chamber is designed to receiving an energy storage cell. A fluidic connection is formed between the individual chambers, and a ventilation valve is arranged on one of the wall elements, preferably a cover element, of the housing in a respective region paired with the corresponding chamber. At least one of the ventilation valves is an active ventilation valve, and the remaining ventilation valves are blind closures.

摘要: A system for producing electrodes for lead-acid batteries is disclosed. An electrode that has been produced comprises at least one upper and/or one lower frame element as well as a lattice-shaped region that extends away from said upper or lower frame element and has a plurality of openings, the upper and/or lower frame element being of a greater thickness than the lattice-shaped region. Said system comprises the steps of: a) producing a profiled strip-shaped blank using a casting method in which the strip-shaped blank is formed, solely by means of said casting method, to have a greater thickness on one side in at least one of the regions which should eventually form the upper or lower frame element, than the thickness in regions which should eventually form the lattice-shaped region, and b) producing said lattice-shaped region with the openings in a subsequent expanded metal process.
