Abstract:
An audio player is provided that includes a sound storage memory and a speaker with at least a portion of each of the memory and the speaker contained within a housing in an animate form and having a movable portion. A playback button extends from the housing retrieving a sound from the memory as an output from the speaker. The playback button also induces movement of the movable portion of the housing. An ink reservoir terminating in a writing tip and a microphone with an associated recording button extending from the housing and mechanically activating the microphone to store sound in the memory are each provided alone or in combination within the audio player. An audio player housing in a simulative form of a bird contains an ink reservoir within the tail portion of the bird while the auditory playback and optional recording is provided via a housing portion simulative of a beak.
Abstract:
A toy is provided that has a dynamo for converting manual movement into an electrical charge for the dynamo located within a housing. A miniature vehicle is induced to locomote through receipt of the electrical charge. A dock is provided for selectively creating an electrical coupling of the vehicle to the dynamo to transfer the electrical charge and decoupling to allow the vehicle to locomote. A charge storage device and an electrical motor in the vehicle allow for prolonged vehicle locomotion separate from the charge transfer by the dynamo. A toy is also provided that has a dynamo for converting manual movement into an electrical charge, the dynamo located within a housing. The dynamo transfers an electrical charge to a wheeled miniature vehicle through an electrically conductive circuit about which the vehicle travels. Additional amusement functions of LED light output or speaker auditory output are optionally provided.
Abstract:
A test kit for the identification of various bacterial species groupings comprises a DNA probe which can identify palindromic units specific to particular bacterial species or species groupings. Such probes are highly specific for particular species or species subgroups. Accordingly, specific identification of bacteria may be achieved.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a width-adjusting device for conveyor corridor(s), comprising a wide gear-reduction mechanism connected to the frame (5) of said conveyor, wherein said mechanism is arranged between the control shaft (12) and the wall(s) of said corridor. The device includes: a final drive capable of reverse operation and consisting of said control shaft (12) in the form of an endless screw and of a toothed wheel (11); and a system for controlling at least one of the walls of said corridor, consisting of an endless screw (13) and a nut, the endless screw being mobile or fixed relative to said toothed wheel (11). The shaft (12) of the final drive is a flexible shaft having a long length and engaging with the tension-retaining system (20) for absorbing the pulling and pushing forces in the rotation direction thereof.

Abstract:
A welding system component includes a circuit board for the welding system component. An interface has a main riser portion with a fastener passageway formed therethrough. The interface has an extension portion with a terminal passageway formed therethrough. The extension portion is electrically connected to the circuit board with a terminal disposed in the terminal passageway. The extension portion is spaced away from a surface of the circuit board. A capacitor is electrically connected to the main riser portion with a fastener disposed in the fastener passageway.

Abstract:
An electronic module is employed with at least one interiorly positioned fastener that at least partially secures a central region of the electronic module to an object to prevent bowing or warping. The module contains a base, at least two peripheral fasteners at opposed ends of the module, and the at least one interiorly positioned fastener, wherein the base is capable of accepting electronic components and further includes at least one layer, and wherein the at least one interiorly positioned fastener is interposed between the at least two peripheral fasteners.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a guide holder (2) in the form of a unitary piece shaped from a cylindrical bar. The holder (2) includes two portions: an L-shaped portion in the form of a flat having a branch defining the foot (5); and a cylindrical portion or rod (4) on which can slide an adjustable linking system between said holder (2) and said guide.
Abstract:
A reusable sequential information display device includes a printed substrate that includes on a display surface with indicia visualized under ambient light to form a first informational statement. Indicia formed of an ink visualized under light wavelengths of less than 420 nanometers is also applied to the display surface to form a second informational statement. A reader contains a light-emitting diode producing an emission wavelength of less than or equal to the wavelength required to visualize the invisible ink. The light-emitting diode, a battery and a switch for selectively forming an electrical circuit between the light-emitting diode and battery are located within a reader. A query-answer educational game is formed and optionally includes a light-emission timer and/or a sound synthesizer.
