    Abstract: A method of performing a camera to ground alignment for a camera system on a vehicle. The method includes determining if enabling conditions have occurred and estimating a location of a vanishing point in a source image. Ground lines are selected based on a source image. A lane line detection is performed based on clustering of the ground lines to determine lane lines in the source image. At least one of pitch, yaw, or roll of the vehicle are estimated from the source image. A cost function based on estimates of pitch, yaw, and roll is minimized to obtain an optimal pitch value, an optimal yaw value, an optimal roll value, and lane lines from the source image. A sliding window-based refinement is performed on source images. Alignment results are broadcast to a downstream application or it is determined if the camera system on the vehicle is misaligned.

    Abstract: A system selecting a parking spot using reinforcement learning includes a first monitor evaluating available parking spots in a parking lot. Reinforcement learning (RL) is used to pick a parking spot based on user preferences. A computer computes a probability of a future parking spot availability from the available parking spots. An information source wherein the computer retrieves information including time of day, weather and location from the information source to assist in computing the probability of the future parking spot availability. An update module receives the future parking spot availability from the computer and updates a belief probability, the belief probability including a belief defined as a data structure in which a probability of the available individual parking spots within the parking lot is stored. An RL model is updated for the parking lot after a park maneuver is completed for a host vehicle.

An electric vehicle includes an electric motor including a stator and a rotor, wherein the rotor is configured to rotate about a rotor axis; a rotor shaft connected to the rotor for rotation about the rotor axis; a differential located within the rotor shaft; a first input shaft connected to first side of the differential; a second input shaft connected to second side of the differential; a locking system configured to selectively lock rotation of the first input shaft to rotation of the rotor shaft; a control system configured to determine when to lock rotation of the first input shaft to rotation of the rotor shaft; and an actuation system configured to operate the locking system to lock rotation of the first input shaft to rotation of the rotor shaft.

    Abstract: A fuel cell system, e.g., of a motor vehicle, includes a fuel cell stack having fuel cells and non-repeating hardware components, the latter including wet and dry end units. The cells are positioned between the end units. The dry end unit includes an end plate and a compression plate assembly that uniformly compresses the cells against the end plate, and a terminal plate surrounded by a seal plate. An insulator frame disposed adjacent to the compression plate assembly is engaged with the insulator frame via a frictional interface provided by o-ring compression seals having a respective post connected to the terminal plate and the seal plate, and a pocket connected to the insulator frame. The post and pocket of at least one of the compression seals together define a fluid passage. One or more shim plates may be disposed between the end plate and insulator frame.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure include an electrode calendering system having an electrode foil wrinkle remover band and a process for manufacturing electrodes using the same. An exemplary system includes a top roll press and a bottom roll press separated from the top roll press by a gap. The gap includes a distance selected to accommodate a current collector having a bare portion and a coated portion having thereon an active electrode material of a first thickness. The system further includes a wrinkle remover band having a second thickness selected, based on the first thickness, to evenly distribute stress across the bare portion and the coated portion of the current collector during a calendering process for forming a pressed electrode.

Each conductive trace includes an insulation board, a gate bus disposed on the insulation board, a kelvin bus disposed on the insulation board, and a semiconductor die operating as a transistor. The semiconductor die including a drain, a gate, and a source. The drain is coupled to the conductive trace. The source is coupled to the kelvin bus and to an electrical connection off of the conductive trace. The gate is coupled to the gate bus.

    Abstract: A system for identifying road defects within a roadway ahead of a moving vehicle, includes at least one camera in communication with a system controller and adapted to capture a plurality of time sequential images of the roadway ahead of the moving vehicle, and at least one motion sensor in communication with the system controller and adapted to detect when the vehicle encounters a road defect, the system controller adapted to correlate the road defect with at least one of the plurality of time sequential images of the roadway, analyze, using a computer vision algorithm, the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images, identify, with the computer vision algorithm, the road defect within the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images, and label the identified road defect within the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images.
