Abstract: A system for identifying road defects within a roadway ahead of a moving vehicle, includes at least one camera in communication with a system controller and adapted to capture a plurality of time sequential images of the roadway ahead of the moving vehicle, and at least one motion sensor in communication with the system controller and adapted to detect when the vehicle encounters a road defect, the system controller adapted to correlate the road defect with at least one of the plurality of time sequential images of the roadway, analyze, using a computer vision algorithm, the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images, identify, with the computer vision algorithm, the road defect within the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images, and label the identified road defect within the at least one of the plurality of time sequential images.

Abstract: A system for providing an alert to an occupant within a vehicle includes a system controller in communication with a plurality of onboard sensors, other vehicles and infrastructure systems, an augmented reality head up display system and a full windshield display system, each adapted to project images onto an inner surface of a windshield of the vehicle, the system controller adapted to detect at least one approaching vehicle, calculate a distance from the intersection, speed and trajectory of the at least one approaching vehicle, determine if the at least one approaching vehicle poses a threat and classify the at least one approaching vehicle as a threat vehicle, and provide a warning message and augmentation graphics by projecting the warning message and augmentation graphics onto the inner surface of the windshield with at least one of the AR-HUD system and the full windshield display system.

The method includes receiving occupant data about an occupant of a host vehicle, generating a knowledge graph based on the occupant data using automotive ontology, querying the knowledge graph to generate an occupant profile comprising the wants and the needs of the occupant of the host vehicle, communicating the occupant profile to a target vehicle, comparing features of a target vehicle to features of the host vehicle to determine a compatible feature, and configuring the at least one compatible feature of the target vehicle based on the occupant profile. The compatible feature is a vehicle feature present in both the target vehicle and the host vehicle. The occupant data includes meta-data about the occupant of the host vehicle, customer-facing features of the host vehicle, and interaction data between the occupant and the customer-facing features of the host vehicle.

Abstract: A charging unit guidance system includes a processor and a memory. The memory includes instructions that upon execution by the processor, cause the processor to receive a sequence of user states associated with a user of a first autonomous vehicle, each user state being one of a walking state and an at-charging-unit state and the sequence of user states being based on a sequence of observed user speeds associated with detected user position data associated with movement of the user from the first autonomous vehicle to a charging unit and at the charging unit, determine a charging unit location of the charging unit based on a correlation between the at-charging-unit states in the sequence of user states and the user position data, and upload the charging unit location associated with the charging unit to an edge computing system, the edge computing system being configured to provide guidance instructions to the charging unit to a second autonomous vehicle based at least in part on the charging unit location.

Abstract: A method for enabling vehicle connected services for a hearing-impaired vehicle occupant includes receiving sensor data from a plurality of sensors of a vehicle. The sensor data includes scene data indicative of a scene inside the vehicle and outside the vehicle. The method further includes determining that the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant is articulating sign language using the sensor data. Also, the method includes determining a vehicle-occupant message corresponding to the sign language articulated by the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant to generate vehicle occupant-message data in response to determining that the hearing-impaired vehicle occupant is articulating sign language. The method further includes transmitting the vehicle occupant-message data and the scene data to a remote system in response to generating the vehicle occupant-message data. Further, the method includes receiving a vehicle connected service from the remote system.

Abstract: An ego vehicle includes a system having one or more input devices for generating an input signal associated with a remote vehicle. The system further includes a computer having one or more processors programmed to receive the input signal from the input device. The processor is further programmed to determine a speed profile of the remote vehicle based on the input signal, determine that the remote vehicle is a traffic impediment based on the input signal, and determine a predicted slowdown event associated with the traffic impediment and the speed profile. The processor is further programmed to generate an actuation signal, in response to the processor determining the speed profile, the traffic impediment, and the predicted slowdown event. The notification device provides the notification of the predicted slowdown event to a user in response to the notification device receiving the actuation signal from the processor.

The processor determines a route between the current location and the travel destination, performs autonomous operation of the vehicle along the route, and selectively powers or tunes the usage of the at least one autonomous input mechanism with the battery during autonomous operation of the vehicle.

Abstract: A system, method and server for a controlling a relation between a vehicle and traffic flow over a road segment.
