Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for transmitting a packet. The apparatus and method indicate a policy with respect to an acknowledgement packet and a retransmission packet, which correspond to the type of data to be transmitted, in a packet included in the data. The apparatus includes a Media Access Control (MAC) control unit which determines the type of packet to be transmitted, and sets the packet to indicate an acknowledgement policy and a retransmission policy with respect to the packet; and a communication unit which transmits the packet.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for wireless communications are provided. The apparatus for wireless communications includes a media access control processing unit providing a plurality of sub-packets, and a transmitting/receiving unit outputting a packet that includes the plurality of sub-packets using a plurality of transmission modes.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for protecting against copying high definition (HD) contents transmitted in a wireless HD (WiHD) network by using a WiHD source or sink device, the method including: determining a type of copy protection of contents transmitted in the WiHD network; calculating accumulatively a number of media access control (MAC) sub-packets as a input counter information, wherein the MAC sub packets constitute a MAC payload including the contents; packetizing the type of copy protection and the input counter information into a MAC packet; and transmitting the MAC packet to a WiHD sink device.
Abstract:
Provided are a apparatus and method for transmitting data and a apparatus and method for receiving data, in which a transmitting station sets priorities among a plurality of data to be transmitted and a receiving station processes the plurality of data according to the priorities. The apparatus for transmitting data includes a packet-generation module which generates a plurality of data and a packet that includes the plurality of data and that specifies priorities between the plurality of data; and a communication module which transmits the packet through a communication channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are molecular markers and assay methods for characterizing cells. As disclosed, the methods entail determining a methylation state of at least one CpG in a region of a nucleotide molecule of the cell, comparing the methylation state with that of a corresponding CpG of a comparison cell of a known cell type, a known cell line, or a known cell strain, and distinguishing, identifying or designating the cell type, the cell line or the cell strain of the cell based on whether the methylation state is the same or different from that of the corresponding CpG.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for efficiently retransmitting data in a wireless network environment are provided. The method includes transmitting a block comprising one or more data frames to a terminal, receiving an acknowledgement of receipt of the block from the terminal, and retransmitting a block comprising data frames that have not yet been received by the terminal to the terminal by referencing the acknowledgement of receipt. Accordingly, it is possible to enhance overall throughput by reducing receipt acknowledgement time during a data retransmission operation.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of transmitting information regarding a device in a wireless personal area network (WPAN). In the method, a probe request frame is received from one of devices belonging to the WPAN according to a common mode which is a physical layer (PHY) transmission mode being commonly supported by the devices, the probe request frame containing information requesting information regarding a PHY transmission mode supported by another specific device, a probe response frame containing the information regarding the PHY transmission mode supported by the specific device is generated, and then the probe response frame is transmitted to the device transmitting the probe request frame, according to the common mode.
Abstract:
A method of and an apparatus to improve stability and efficiency during data transmission performed over a wireless network includes transmitting a first data frame containing a plurality of data units to a receiving device, receiving from the receiving device a receipt of confirmation for each data unit received by the receiving device, and transmitting a second data frame containing at least one of the plurality of data units that have not been transmitted or received, according to the receipt of confirmation for each data unit received by the receiving device.
Abstract:
A method for intracellular delivery of single proteins or other cargo molecules by encapsulation within nanocapsules formed by interfacial polymerization of one or more types of monomers and selected protease cleavable cross-linkers is provided. The thin positively charged capsules are readily brought into the cytosol of target cells by endocytosis. The capsules are degraded by the action of endogenous proteases or co-delivered proteases on the cross-linkers releasing the functional cargo unaltered. The cross-linkers can be adapted to be cleavable by specific enzymes selected from available intracellular enzymes within the target cell or co-delivered or self-cleaving when the cargo itself is a protease. The nanocapsules produced by the methods have been shown to have long-term stability, high cell penetration capability, low toxicity and efficient protease-modulated specific degradability without affecting cargo protein function.
Abstract:
A stored transmission packet having a structure intended for use in a new link-adaptation mechanism, and a method and an apparatus for transmitting the transmission packet using the same are disclosed. The structure includes a payload composed of a plurality of transmission data units, a MAC header appended to the payload, and a PHY header appended to the MAC header, wherein the payload includes a link recommendation command in which information on a transmission mode is recorded, among a link-adaptation mechanism including Link Assessment, in which the state of a channel used to transmit and receive the transmission packet and the quality thereof is assessed, Link Recommendation, in which a transmission mode suitable for a current channel state is recommended using the result of Link Assessment, and Link Adjustment, in which the channel state is adjusted using information on the recommended transmission mode.
