Abstract:
Provided is a broadcasting system based on a network using an Internet protocol (IP). In the broadcasting system, a broadcast transmitter previously transmits first access information including a first network address for transmitting a general notification message and second access information associated with management of the broadcasting system, to a broadcast receiver. If a general notification event occurs, the general notification message is generated and the generated general notification message is transmitted to the broadcast receiver via one of a broadcast network and an interaction network using the first network address. The broadcast receiver receives a general notification message based on the first network address in data received from the broadcast transmitter.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmitting a multimedia frame through a heterogeneous network in a broadcast system supporting a multimedia service based on an interne protocol are provided. The method includes generating header information including a frame identifier distinguishing a multimedia frame and information measuring a quality of a connection service between network layers and end-to-end network capabilities, and combining the header information and multimedia data to configure the multimedia frame.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for transmitting service discovery information to a client in a multimedia transmission system of hybrid delivery, providing at least two services via a point to multi point (p-t-m) channel and a point to point (p-t-p) channel. Service discovery information is generated, including a first indication indicating whether a service corresponding to the service discovery information is of hybrid delivery, and is transmitted to the client.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of transmitting media content in a multimedia system are provided. The method includes determining a transmission unit for transmitting at least one multimedia source related to the media content, generating a data stream including header information and the at least one multimedia source according to the determined transmission unit, and transmitting the data stream through a communication network.
Abstract:
A method for providing stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) image/video content in a terminal based on Lightweight Application Scene Representation (LASeR) is provided. The method includes receiving a LASeR content including therein stereoscopic 3D image/video information, decoding the received LASeR content according to a stereoscopic 3D image/video attribute, checking LASeR commands from the decoded LASeR content, carrying out the LASeR commands, parsing scene information including stereoscopic 3D image/video information included in the decoded LASeR content, determining whether a media object to be included in scene description is a stereoscopic 3D image/video according to the stereoscopic 3D image/video information and, when the media object to be included in scene description is a stereoscopic 3D image/video, displaying the stereoscopic 3D image/video according to whether the terminal supports a stereoscopic 3D image/video.
Abstract:
A real-time service method and apparatus for providing information generated in real-time mode are provided. The method includes generating, by a file generator a contents file including contents configuration related information and real-time service related information such that the contents configuration related information and the real-time service related information are separated within the contents file; and transmitting, by a transmitter, the generated file to a receiving device.
Abstract:
A service provision method in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network is provided. A service request message is transmitted from a first user terminal to a second user terminal for requesting a service. The service request message includes global identifiers (IDs) allocated to the first user terminal and the second user terminal. A service response message is transmitted from the second user terminal to the first user terminal. A service session is established between the first user terminal and the second user terminal, when the service response message is received by the first user terminal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for updating E-book content in an E-book terminal where upon a request for update of an E-book package, the E-book terminal sends an E-book content update request message including a version of the E-book package to an E-book server, receives from the E-book server an E-book content update response message including a content-specific version list or a content-specific action list included in the version of the E-book package, determines content to be updated based on the E-book content update response message, sends the E-book server a content request message for requesting the content to be updated, and updates the E-book content by receiving content of the latest version for the requested content from the E-book server.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing broadcast content by an adaptive streaming service and a system using the same are provided, in which a content transmission server configures and transmits a manifest file including a content IDentifier (ID), and a client device receives the manifest file, determines whether the content ID included in the manifest file is identical to an ID of user-requested content for recording, and records a content segment received from a content providing server, if the content ID included in the manifest file is identical to the ID of the user-requested content.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for transmitting and playing complex content including a plurality of content. A method of playing the complex content includes receiving, from a server, the complex content and classification information corresponding to the complex content, classifying the plurality of content according to the classification information, and playing the complex content based on the classified plurality of content.
