Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a multilayer film. The present invention is also directed to a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display into which the multilayer film is incorporated. The backlight unit comprises a light source; and a multilayer film disposed adjacent to the light source, wherein the multilayer film comprises a first layer including a plurality of first particles and at least one second layer including a plurality of second particles, and wherein the second layer is disposed adjacent to the first layer and has a refractive index different from the first layer. The liquid crystal display comprises a liquid crystal panel; a light source; and a multilayer film disposed adjacent to the light source, wherein the multilayer film comprises a first layer including a plurality of first particles and at least one second layer including a plurality of second particles, and wherein the second layer is disposed adjacent to the first layer and has a refractive index different from the first layer.
Abstract:
An optical sheet package is disclosed. The optical sheet package includes an optical sheet including an unstructured surface, and a first protective film at a location corresponding to the unstructured surface. The unstructured surface is attached to the first protective film, and a force between the unstructured surface and the first protective film is an electrostatic attraction.
Abstract:
A lighting apparatus is disclosed. The lighting apparatus includes a light source, a first reflective unit reflecting light, a second reflective unit that is positioned opposite the first reflective unit and reflects the light, and a light pipe positioned outside the first reflective unit. The light source is positioned inside the first reflective unit. The light pipe receives the light reflected by the first reflective unit or the second reflective unit to emit the light.
Abstract:
An optical sheet, a backlight unit including the optical sheet, and a liquid crystal display including the backlight unit may be provided. The optical sheet may include a reflective polarizing film, a first adhesive layer on one surface of the reflective polarizing film, and a first diffusion layer on the first adhesive layer. The first diffusion layer may include a first light transmitting material and a plurality of first diffusion particles provided therein. A difference between a refractive index of the first adhesive layer and a refractive index of the first light transmitting material is less than or equal to approximately 0.2.
Abstract:
An optical sheet, a backlight unit including the optical sheet, and a liquid crystal display including the backlight unit may be provided. The optical sheet may include a reflective polarizing film, a base film on one surface of the reflective polarizing film, and a plurality of projections on the base film. The base film may include a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. A first thickness T1 is a distance between the first surface and the second surface and a second thickness T2 is a distance between the first surface and the second surface. The first and second thickness T1 and T2 satisfy the following equation: 0.1 μm≦|T1-T2″≦10 μm.
Abstract:
A novel glucose sensor utilizing hydrogen-specific gas sensing capability of single walled carbon nanotubes assembled on microelectrodes. Highly specific glucose sensing was demonstrated using buffered sample solutions with clinically significant concentrations. The approach enables a simple but powerful bio-sensor reliably operating with a completely new principle, and opens up novel device applications where functional nano-components can be integrated into a bioMEMS device.
Abstract:
A method and system for providing real time measurements of draw-in for closed loop control of a metal forming process including an elongated sensor on one of the tools positioned in the proximity of the deformation zone and adjacent to an edge of a sheet metal blank being formed. The sensor includes coils disposed in a signal coupling relationship and during the forming process, a signal applied to one of the coils induces a signal in the coil, producing a response signal that varies linearly as a function of the amount of overlap between the sensor and the sheet metal blank as the sheet metal blank is drawn into the deformation zone. A feedback signal produced from the response signal is used to control a parameter of the forming process as a function of retreat of the edge of the sheet metal blank into the deformation zone.
