Abstract:
An extract of the seeds of the Kniphofia uvaria plant is obtained by bringing into contact with at least one cosmetically acceptable nonpolar solvent, for example, CO2, under supercritical conditions, or by mechanical pressing. This disclosure also relates to a cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising said extract. This disclosure also relates to a cosmetic or dermatological care method comprising the application of said composition for preventing or delaying the appearance of the signs of skin aging, modulating the reactivity of sensitive skin, or maintaining the barrier function of the skin.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising at least one cosmetically acceptable excipient and from 0.01 to 1% by weight, preferably from 0.05 to 0.6%, and more preferably from 0.1 to 0.3% by weight of the combination of an extract of the brown alga Laminaria digitata, of a Saccharomyces hydrolysate and of ascorbic acid or one of its esters, the percentage being expressed by dry weight. The combination of active agents of the invention for which a synergistic effect with regard to the synthesis of the procollagen I has been shown also produces an advantageous effect with regard to other markers of aging.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of an alkyl glycoside or of a mixture of at least two alkyl glycosides as agent intended for inhibiting microbial growth, in particular in a cosmetic, pharmaceutical or food composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for protecting the skin against UV rays, using at least two cosmetic skincare and/or make-up compositions, comprising: the application, to at least part of the skin of the body or face, of at least a first layer of a first cosmetic composition comprising an oil phase and, optionally, an aqueous phase, followed by the application, on said first layer, of at least a second layer of a second anhydrous composition comprising at least 70 wt.-% powders selected from among fillers and pigments, and an oil phase, said method being characterized in that at least one of the two compositions contains at least one UV filter, preferably a liposoluble UV filter. The liposoluble UV filter is preferably in the second composition. The first composition is a make-up foundation or skincare base. The second composition is advantageously a loose or compact powder. The method can be used to improve the sensory properties of cosmetic products applied to the skin, preferably the face, while maintaining a satisfactory level of sun protection.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for protecting the skin against UV rays, using two cosmetic compositions for protecting against UV rays, the sun protection indices of which are different from each other, this method consisting in applying to the skin, before or during exposure to sunlight, a first composition having a certain sun protection index, and then in applying, during exposure to sunlight, onto the residual deposit of the first composition, the second cosmetic composition having a sun protection index lower than that of the first composition. This method advantageously makes it possible to not reapply the first composition, but to use a second product that is much more pleasant to use, while at the same time obtaining the level of protection afforded by the deposit of the initial first composition. The invention also relates to a sun protection kit comprising a first composition for protecting against UV rays having a sun protection index of greater than or equal to 30, and at least a second cosmetic composition for protecting against UV rays, having a sun protection index of less than or equal to 20, the two compositions being packaged separately.
Abstract:
A dispensing device for dispensing a liquid or pasty product, in particular a cosmetic product, including a daughter bottle, a mother bottle and a refill mechanism. The daughter bottle is equipped with a dispensing member and a daughter portion of the refill mechanism. The mother bottle is equipped with a mother portion of the refill mechanism and defines a recess for removably receiving the daughter bottle. The daughter portion is configured to couple to the mother portion when the daughter bottle is received in the recess. The refill mechanism is then able to refill the daughter bottle with product from the mother bottle. The dispensing device transmits an actuation force of the dispensing member in order to actuate the refill mechanism. The force required for actuating the dispensing member is greater than or equal to the force required for actuating the refill mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention deals with organic cosmetic active molecules encapsulation into temperature-responsive and pH-responsive oligo(ethylene glycol)-based biocompatible microgels that are incorporated into cosmetic compositions for controlled delivery on skin or hair.
Abstract:
A device for a timepiece, comprising a support, an inertial regulating member mounted so as to rotate relative to the support by an elastic suspension connecting said regulating member to the support. The regulating member comprises a number n of rigid portions interconnected in pairs by n elastic coupling links. The elastic suspension comprises n elastic suspension links respectively connecting each rigid portion to the support.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of citrus fruit pieces, obtained by controlled osmotic dehydration of said citrus fruit in a sugar syrup, for mechanically exfoliating dead cells from the epidermis of the skin of a person. Said citrus fruit pieces include the peel and/or epicarp of said citrus fruit and have a furocoumarin compound content of less than 50 ppm. The invention also relates to a cosmetic care method intended for skin exfoliation, said method including the steps to involve: applying, onto the skin of a person, citrus fruit pieces obtained by controlled osmotic dehydration of said citrus fruit in a sugar syrup, said citrus fruit pieces including the peel and/or epicarp of said citrus fruit and having a furocoumarin compound content of less than 50 ppm; massaging the skin that is covered by said pieces by rubbing the surface of the skin so as to mechanically exfoliate the dead cells located thereon; and rinsing or wiping the skin in order to remove the candied citrus fruit pieces and the exfoliated dead cells.
Abstract:
An aqueous cosmetic comprising: at least one nature-derived polysaccharide comprising as constituent monosaccharides, glucuronic acid and one cyclic form of an aldohexose, a particulate copolymer, the particulate copolymer obtained from at least two monomer units selected from the group consisting of a monomer comprising an ethylenic unsaturated group and a benzene skeleton and a monomer comprising a (meth)acryloyl group; an anionic surfactant; and from 50 to 95 wt % of water of the weight of aqueous cosmetic.
