Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for cancer diagnostics, including but not limited to, cancer markers. In particular, the present invention provides gene expression profiles associated with prostate cancers. Genes identified as cancer markers using the methods of the present invention find use in the diagnosis and characterization of prostate cancer. In addition, the genes provide targets for cancer drug screens and therapeutic applications.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for cancer diagnostics, including but not limited to, cancer markers. In particular, the present invention provides gene expression profiles associated with prostate cancers. The present invention also provides novel markers useful for the diagnosis, characterization, and treatment of prostate cancers. In particular, the present invention provides methods and compositions for the use of α-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR) as a marker for prostate cancer detection and prognosis.
Abstract:
An Internet or other online service is personalized or customized based on data collected for a user of a computing device. In one embodiment, a method includes: storing a plurality of person profiles for persons associated with communications received by a user of a computing device; receiving data associated with an online service; and filtering, using at least one processor, the data based on the plurality of person profiles, wherein the filtered data is for display to the user on the computing device.
Abstract:
Devices and methods of treating a targeted body tissue by stimulating the body tissue with an electric current. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes an electrode carrier configured to be removably coupled to an interior surface of an orthosis. The electrode carrier includes a recess configured to matingly receive a portion of an electrode. The electrode carrier is electrically coupled to the electrode when the portion of the electrode is disposed within the recess. A connection member is electrically coupled to the electrode carrier and is configured to be releasably coupled to a surface of the orthosis. The electrode carrier is electrically coupled to the orthosis when the connection member is coupled to the orthosis. In some embodiments, the electrode carrier is configured to be removably coupled to the interior surface of the orthosis. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the electrode is constructed of an absorptive material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of an alkylpyridine of formula (I) wherein R represents a cyclic alkyl or alkenyl group as taste-conferring or enhancing ingredient to impart or reinforce the kokumi or umami taste in flavored compositions or flavored foods.
Abstract:
Methods for authenticating a user including presenting a series of images that are solely identifiable by the user, and that are not otherwise capable of being represented or expressed by the user, apart from the recognition thereof. Additionally, methods are provided that include the use of a gradient of morphed images created from a related set of initial images, including facial photos of various emotions that have been morphed into discernable images that are uniquely identifiable by a single user for use in authenticating the identification of that user by a secure system.
Abstract:
Recurrent gene fusions of androgen regulated genes and ETS family member genes in prostate cancer are described. Compositions and methods having utility in prostate cancer diagnosis, research, and therapy are also provided.
Abstract:
In general, the presently disclosed technology relates to identification of cancer subtypes. More specifically, the technology relates to methods for determining molecular drivers of cancer and/or progression using a multivariate image data and statistical analysis of in-situ molecular markers and morphological characteristics in the same cells of a biological sample suspected of b cancer. This analysis takes place after a single acquisition that obtains the molecular and anatomic morphology data in parallel. The analysis compares specific morphological and molecular markers to known samples exhibiting particular genetic drivers of the cancer. This method provides statistical information that allows for an increased confidence in the identification of specific molecular drivers of the cancer.
