Abstract:
A drying section for a paper making machine includes a larger number of dryer sections, fewer dryers in each dryer section, and provisions for driving many of the dryers individually. The average number of dryers per dryer section is less than five and preferably less than four. By providing a small number of dryers per dryer section and driving many of the dryers individually, it is possible to more precisely compensate for stretching of the paper web in the initial stages of the drying process and to more precisely compensate for shrinkage of the paper web during the latter stages of the drying process.
Abstract:
Process and apparatus for drying a material web. The process includes guiding the material web to at least one heated area having a jacket surface of a cylinder having a diameter of between about 4-10 meters, setting the material web, having a dry content of between about 45-55%, onto the at least one heated area, maintaining the material web in uninterrupted contact with the at least one heated area at least until the material web achieves a firmness sufficient for detaching the material web from the heated area, and detaching the material web from the at least one heated area with a dry content of between about 55%-65%.
Abstract:
Dryer section for drying a fibrous web supported by at least one drying fabric. The dryer section includes a plurality of heated drying cylinders, a plurality of guide rolls, and a plurality of dampening devices arranged at different locations relative to the fibrous web. Each dampening device applies a quantity of liquid to the fibrous web. In at least in one of the plurality of dampening devices, the quantity of the liquid is adjustable separately in zones transversely with respect to a web running direction. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
A process for drying a web provides for guiding a web having a moisture content and subjecting the web to laser radiation to remove at least some portion of the moisture content. A system for drying a web includes at least one laser, a moisture measurement device, and a control device, wherein the control device receives input from the measurement device and influences the at least one laser.
Abstract:
Device and process for removing a fibrous material web from a drying section of a machine for producing and/or refining the fibrous material web and into a catch device. The drying section includes heated drying cylinders, guidance rolls, and at least one drying wire arranged such that the fibrous material web is guided through the drying section over the heated drying cylinders and the guidance rolls at least predominately by the at least one drying wire. The device includes at least one controllable separating device arranged to at least reduce an adhesion force between the fibrous material web and the at least one drying wire.
Abstract:
In a drying section of a machine for producing a material web such as, in particular, a paper or cardboard web, a pick-up suction roll, in particular a larger pick-up suction roll, is provided between the last pressing nip of a pressing section and a subsequent impingement drying unit, which suction roll removes the material web from a pressing felt guided through the pressing nip or from a transfer belt and transfers it to the impingement drying unit.
Abstract:
Drying section of a machine for producing a material web. The drying section includes at least one web guidance device and at least one wire arranged to guide the material web through the at least one web guidance device. The at least one web guidance device is structured and arranged to direct pressurized gas at the material web so that, in a web travel direction, the material web is alternately lifted from the at least one wire and resting against the at least one wire.
Abstract:
A drying cylinder for drying a fibrous web, the cylinder having an inner chamber connected to a pressurized air source; and an outer cylinder jacket having an air-permeable region which is adapted to contact the fibrous material web. Also a drying section for drying a fibrous web, including at least one drying cylinder having an inner chamber and an outer cylinder jacket having an air-permeable region; a circulating belt arranged to press the fibrous web against the outer cylinder jacket and belt being arranged to partially wrap around the drying cylinder; and a pressurized air source connected to the inner chamber is described. Finally, a process for drying a fibrous web in an apparatus that includes at least one drying cylinder having an inner chamber and an outer cylinder jacket having an air permeable region, the process including pressurizing the inner chamber of the drying cylinder with air; and guiding the fibrous material web partially around the drying cylinder with a circulating belt wherein the circulating belt presses the fibrous material web against the air permeable portion of the cylinder jacket is described.
Abstract:
Process and apparatus for operating an apparatus to drill holes in the shell of a paper machine cylinder. The apparatus includes a stationary framework supportable on the paper machine, a feed frame that is radially movable along the stationary framework relative to the shell, and a drive unit. A plurality of drilling modules are coupled to the feed frame, which are rotatable via the drive unit, and the drilling modules include a drive shaft, at least two spindle heads, and at least two intermediate shafts arranged between the drive shaft and the at least two spindle heads, in which at least one of the at least two spindle heads in each drilling module is rotatable about a respective intermediate shaft of the drilling modules. The process includes rotating at least one of the at least two spindle heads about a respective intermediate shaft of the drilling module arranged between a drive shaft and the at least one spindle head, such that a mutual distance between spindle shaft centers of the at least two spindle heads in the drilling modules is adjusted.
Abstract:
A device to clean a transport belt of a machine for manufacturing a material web, in particular paper or cardboard web, is provided which includes at least one nozzle that can impart a medium under pressure and is designed to rotate on a rotational axis. The device is characterized in that the rotational speed of the nozzle for a gentle cleaning of the transport belt lies in the range of from about 2500 rpm to about 4000 rpm, and for an intensive cleaning of the transport belt in the range of from about 1000 rpm to about 2500 rpm.
