Abstract:
A blown film composition including a first high density polyethylene component and a second high density polyethylene component, wherein the blown film contains a mixture of three or more discrete molecular weight distributions, and wherein the second high density polyethylene component has at least one more discrete molecular weight distribution than the first high density polyethylene component.
Abstract:
Polymer articles and processes of forming the same are described herein. The processes generally include providing an ethylene based polymer, blending the ethylene based polymer with a modifier to form modified polyethylene and forming the modified polyethylene into a polymer article, wherein the polymer article exhibits a haze that is at least about 10% less than a polymer article prepared with a similarly modified polyethylene.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for tracking and evaluating social writing activities are discussed. In one example embodiment, a method for tracking and evaluating social writing activities includes operations for monitoring content creation, tracking social behaviors, identifying activities of value, and associating the activities of value with a complex activity. The monitoring content creation can include detecting activities within a social software environment. The tracking social behaviors include tracking behaviors related to the content creation activities performed within the social software environment. The identifying activities of value include identifying activities of value associated with the content creation activities. Finally, associating the activities of value with a complex activity can form a composite picture.
Abstract:
A plurality of cartons, preferably fabricated from paper, paperboard and/or corrugated paperboard, and particularly of tray or wrapper-style construction, are provided, having integral lid constructions, and outer overlap panels, operably associated with the at least one top panel, to enable articulation of the carton into a substantially completed structure, without interfering with the subsequent articulation of the at least one top panel to enable loading of the carton subsequent to articulation and affixation of the outer overlap panels.
Abstract:
Polymer articles formed from a modified propylene based polymer and processes of forming the same are described herein. The modified propylene based polymers generally include a propylene based polymer, a nucleator including a hyper nucleator, and a neutralizer composition, wherein the neutralizer composition includes a first compound selected from stearoyl lactylates, lactates, hydrotalcites, hydroxides and combinations thereof and may optionally include a second compound selected from metal stearates, wherein the lactates are selected from modified calcium salts derived from stearic and lactic acids and calcium lactates.
Abstract:
Containers of the wraparound and tray style are provided, having enhanced stacking strength and general robustness, through the provision of internal and external reinforcing panels and flanges. Variations of the basic invention are provided with closure flaps of varying configuration and placement; end walls and minor flaps with angled side edges to provide for containers having inclined sides; regions of weakness, removable portions of panels and/or preformed apertures to permit conversion of the containers to display/merchandising modes; gusseted corner structures to provide for containment of fluent materials; and enhanced transverse support structures.
Abstract:
Process for producing an oriented polyolefin film using a multi-component polymer composition provided by a primary polymer component comprising an isotactic propylene homopolymer produced by the polymerization of propylene in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst and a secondary polymer component comprising a metallocene polymerized isotactic propylene polymer having a xylene solubles content which is less than that of the primary polymer component. The secondary polymer component is a propylene homopolymer or an ethylene-propylene random copolymer having an ethylene content of about 0.5 wt. % or less. The polymer components are separately co-extruded to form a multilayer co-extrudate in which the primary polymer component is present in an amount greater than the secondary polymer component. The multilayer co-extrudate is oriented in at least one direction to form an oriented film.
Abstract:
Shipping containers that are convertible to display containers are disclosed. The containers comprise wrap around outer shells of the general type known as “Bliss” wraps, in combination with interior vertical support structures. The invention presents improved two- and three-piece container constructions, having improved side-to-end panel connections for improved tray strength upon conversion to a display configuration, as well as a variety of interior divider/support options. By advantageous adhesive application together with specialized opening structures such as tear strips, lines of weakness and/or hand holes, various different conversion configurations are provided.
Abstract:
A method is provided for casting a film of syndiotactic propylene polymer (sPP) at a film line speed of from about 35 to about 200 feet per minute. The sPP provided may include a peak melt temperature of from about 120 to about 140 degrees Celsius. A processing aid may be added to the sPP prior to casting the sPP film. The casting temperature of the method provided may be maintained at less than about 430 degrees Fahrenheit. The method provided includes a cast roll that forms the sPP film and that may be maintained at a temperature of from about 50 to about 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The coefficient of friction of the sPP film provided may be less than about 1.0. The maximum tensile strength of the sPP film provided may be at least about 4,200 pounds per square inch.
Abstract:
High density polyethylene barrier grade films comprising at least one layer of polymer wherein the polymer comprises a density greater than about 0.955 g/cc and a rheological breadth parameter of greater than about 0.22 are disclosed. Methods for producing such films on a film line with a neck height configuration of greater than about 15 inches are disclosed.
