摘要: An integral geogrid includes a plurality of interconnected, oriented strands having an array of openings therein that is produced from a coextruded multilayer polymer sheet starting material. By virtue of the construction, the coextruded multilayer sheet components provide a crystalline synergistic effect during extrusion and orientation of the integral geogrid, resulting in enhanced material properties that provide performance benefits to use of the integral geogrid in soil geosynthetic reinforcement.

摘要: An extruder system for rapid change between different melt strength polymers is provided. The extruder system includes at least three polymer extruders; a flow spool; and a multilayer feedblock including a first combining zone, a second combining zone, and at least one cartridge insert arrangement in each of the first combining zone and the second combining zone; where each cartridge insert arrangement is configured to receive a cartridge insert, the cartridge insert directing flow of a polymer from one of the polymer extruders. Also provided are method of forming an encapsulated coating with the extruder system and an encapsulate coating formed with the extruder system.

The feedblock may include a packet combiner that receives and combines the first and second primary packets to form a multilayer stream. In some examples, at least one of the first and second primary packets may be spread in the cross-web direction prior to being combined with one another.

摘要: A variegated capstock for covering a substrate for a building product has polymeric streaks in a non-clear, non-opaque matrix. Rapid cooling of the matrix minimizes formation of crystallites, such that the polymeric streaks become visible through a surface of the non-opaque matrix. The streaks are visible by having a color or an index of refraction different from that of the matrix. The matrix is in one or more layers, and the polymeric streaks are in the layers. The substrate is visible through the non-clear, non-opaque matrix and can appear partially obscured by the non-clear, non-opaque matrix.

摘要: There is provided a method for manufacturing a resin laminate in which a resin laminate having a foamed resin layer and a non-foamed resin layer can be efficiently manufactured, and a resin laminate having good surface properties can be obtained. A method for manufacturing a resin laminate 14A formed by laminating a foamed resin layer 6B and non-foamed resin layers 7A and 7A and having at least one foamed resin layer 6B, comprising steps of feeding a foamable resin composition 6 in an unfoamed state in a molten state and non-foaming resin compositions 7 and 7 for forming the non-foamed resin layers 7A and 7A into a mold 3 for sheet molding to form a resin laminate; and feeding the above resin laminate in which the foamable resin composition 6 is in an unfoamed state or a foamed state to a sizing die 4.

摘要: A method for producing a multi-layer, microcapillary film is provided. The method involves passing a thermoplastic material into an extruder and through a die assembly operatively connectable to an outlet of the extruder. The die assembly includes a pair of die plates, a manifold positionable between the pair of die plates and defining a plurality of film channels therebetween, and a plurality of nozzles positionable between the plurality of film channels. The film channels converge into an elongate outlet. The nozzles operatively connectable to a source of channel fluid. The method further involves forming the film by extruding the thermoplastic material through the plurality of film channels and the elongate outlet, and forming microcapillaries by emitting the channel fluid into the thermoplastic materials exiting the die. The film may have different layers of thermoplastic material.
