摘要: A system is provided for integrative analysis of intrinsic and extrinsic audiovisual information, such as a system for analysis and correlation of features in a film with features not present in the film but available through the Internet. The system comprises an intrinsic content analyser communicatively connected to an audio-visual source, e.g. a film source, for searching the film for intrinsic data and extracting the intrinsic data using an extraction algorithm. Further, the system comprises an extrinsic content analyser communicatively connected to an extrinsic information source, such as a film screenplay available through the Internet, for searching the extrinsic information source and retrieving extrinsic data using a retrieval algorithm. The intrinsic data and the extrinsic data are correlated in a multisource data structure. The multisource data structure being transformed into high-level information structure which is presented to a user of the system. The user may browse the high-level information structure for such information as the actor identification in a film.

摘要: A content-based classification system is provided that detects the presence of object images within a frame and determines the path, or trajectory, of each object image through multiple frames of a video segment. In a preferred embodiment, face objects and text objects are used for identifying distinguishing object trajectories. A combination of face, text, and other trajectory information is used in a preferred embodiment of this invention to classify each segment of a video sequence. In one embodiment, a hierarchical information structure is utilized to enhance the classification process. At the upper, video, information layer, the parameters used for the classification process include, for example, the number of object trajectories of each type within the segment, an average duration for each object type trajectory, and so on. At the lowest, model, information layer, the parameters include, for example, the type, color, and size of the object image corresponding to each object trajectory. In an alternative embodiment, a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) technique is used to classify each segment into one of a predefined set of classifications, based on the observed characterization of the object trajectories contained within the segment.

摘要: An image processing device and method for classifying symbols, such as text, in a video stream employs a back propagation neural network (BPNN) whose feature space is derived from size, translation, and rotation invariant shape-dependent features. Various example feature spaces are discussed such as regular and invariant moments and an angle histogram derived from a Delaunay triangulation of a thinned, thresholded, symbol. Such feature spaces provide a good match to BPNN as a classifier because of the poor resolution of characters in video streams.

摘要: A video indexing system analyzes contents of source video and develops a visual table of contents using selected images. The source video is analyzed to detect video cuts from one scene to another, and static scenes. Keyframes are selected for each significant scene. A keyframe filtering process filters out less desired frames including, for example, unicolor frames, or those frames having a same object as a primary focus or one primary focuses. A visual index is created from those frames remaining after the keyframe filtering and stored for retrieval. The visual index may be retrieved by a user who may then display the visual index on a display. The user may select one of the frames displayed in the visual index and the source video may be manually (by the user) or automatically advanced to that frame of the source video. Additionally, a user may print the visual index.

摘要: Signatures from MPEG or Motion JPEG encoded video clips are extracted based on the luminance, chrominance, and motion vector values. The signatures are stored in a database, along with corresponding location, size, and time length information. The signature of a query video clip, also encoded in the MPEG or Motion JPEG format, is extracted. The signature of the query video clip is compared with the signatures stored in the meta database, with video clips having signatures similar to the signature of the query video clip identified. The video clips are then retrieved and displayed by selection of a user.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for processing a subject's genomic data comprising (a) obtaining a subject's genomic sequence; (b) reducing the complexity and/or amount of the genomic sequence information; and (c) storing the genomic sequence information of step (b) in a rapidly retrievable form. The present invention further relates to a method wherein the step of reducing the complexity and/or amount of the genomic sequence information is carried out by cropping said genomic sequence information except for signature data pertaining to a disease or disorder, or by aligning a subject's genomic sequence with a reference sequence comprising signature data pertaining to a disease or disorder. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method wherein the use of a subject's functional genetic information, in particular gene expression data is included, as well as to a method, wherein the information is encoded in matrices and decoded and represented based on Markov chain processes. The obtained information can also be used for diagnosing, detecting, monitoring or prognosticating a disease and/or for the preparation of a subject's molecular history. In addition, a corresponding clinical decision support and storage system, preferably in the form of an electronic picture/data archiving and communication system, is provided.
