A method is disclosed for instructing a user interface (UI) in communication with a first of vision processor (VP) to establish communication with a second (VP). The invention is useful in a machine vision system having a plurality of VPs and at least one UI. The method includes the steps of providing each VP with a link function for establishing communication between a VP and a UI; and activating the link function so as to issue instructions to the UI to establish communication with another VP. The link function enables local dynamic display of a remote VP on the UI, and a dynamic connection that provides a continually updated display representing a current state of the VP connected to the UI. An operator may observe results and alter parameters on any of the VPs in the system without having to first understand the architecture of the machine vision system.

A wind blade spar cap laminate repair for wind turbine rotor blades, a repair kit to repair spar cap laminate damage, and a method of repairing damage on wind turbine rotor blades is provided. The wind blade spar cap laminate repair includes a prepared surface, an adhesive region disposed on the prepared surface, and a repair disposed on the adhesive region, wherein the adhesive region sufficiently bonds the repair to the prepared surface to substantially match the mechanical properties of the bulk of the wind turbine rotor blade.

A control system for the operation of a centrifugal pump which may be used for production of gas and/or oil from a well. The control system includes vector feedback model to derive values of torque and speed from signals indicative of instantaneous current and voltage drawn by the pump motor, a pump model which derives values of the fluid flow rate and the head pressure for the pump from torque and speed inputs, a pumping system model that derives from the estimated values of the pump operating parameters an estimated value of a pumping system parameter and controllers responsive to the estimated values of the pumping system parameters to control the pump to maintain fluid level at the pump input near an optimum level.

The present invention provides an optical system having an array of light emitting semiconductor devices to performing an operation that have multiple characteristics associated with performing the operation. The array includes at least one detector located within the array to selectively monitor multiple characteristics of the light emitting semiconductor devices and is configured to generate a signal corresponding to the selected characteristic. A controller is configured to control the light emitting semiconductor devices in response to the signal from the at least one detector. At least one of the multiple characteristics may be concentrated at an area of the array and the at least one detector may be located within the array at the area of the array to selectively monitor characteristic that is concentrated at the area of the array.

A compact headrest stand that selectively unfolds to support a user's head over a support surface. The stand includes a lower member pivotally attached to an upper member. A downward-extending lip configured to capture the edge of a support surface is formed on the opposite edge of the lower member. The upper member includes a center void and two support arms, each with a saddle clip. Attached to the saddle clips is a headrest assembly configured to support the user's forehead and facial bones. During use, the lower member is placed on a support surface, and the upper member is rotated upward and diagonally aligned over the lower member. The headrest is placed on the saddle clips and can swivel between the two support arms. Attached to the lower member is a stop leaf that, when diagonally aligned, holds the upper member diagonally over the lower member.

A driving simulation system is configured to train a driver. The system includes a simulated driver cockpit which includes a steering wheel and at least one video display providing a simulated driving environment to the driver. The system further includes a computerized simulation control module including programming configured to operate a driving simulation through the simulated driver cockpit. The driving simulation includes combined driving rules including generic driving rules configured to universal driving standards and local standard operating procedures for a particular locale. The programming further monitors performance of the driver during the driving simulation, compares the performance of the driver to the combined driving rules, and provide feedback to the driver.

In a sheet stacking and unloading system in which sheets are stacked on a stacking tray which is then moved from its sheet stacking position to an unloading position for removing the sheet stack from the stacking tray, and the stacking tray has a sheet stacking surface partially interrupted by at least one handhold area for allowing manual lifting access underneath a portion of a stack, there is automatically inserted into the handhold area at least one supplemental sheet stack supporting member to provide supplemental sheet stacking support, preventing the sheets from sagging in those areas, which supplemental sheet stack supporting member is automatically removed from the handhold area when the stacking tray is moved to its unloading position.
