摘要: At least one computer-readable medium on which are stored instructions that, when executed by at least one processing device, enable the processing device to perform a method. The method includes determining a peak-efficiency range of a set of one or more pumps. The peak-efficiency range has an upper limit and a lower limit. The upper limit has an associated stage-down pump speed and the lower limit has an associated stage-up pump speed. The pump speed of the set of one or more pumps is determined. If the pump speed of the set of one or more pumps exceeds the stage-down pump speed, an operating pump of the set of one or more pumps is deactivated. If the pump speed of the set of one or more pumps falls below the stage-up pump speed, an operating pump is added to the set of one or more pumps.

摘要: A pump, such as a transmission oil pump, is disclosed. The pump includes an electric motor having a motor housing with a housing wall, and a pump device having a pump housing. A drive shaft of the electric motor is coupled to the pump device. The pump also includes an electrics housing with a motor controller for controlling the electric motor. The electrics housing is detachably attached to the pump housing on a side of the pump housing that faces away from the electric motor. The housing wall of the motor housing is designed as a bearing plate and is detachably arranged on the motor housing rim of the motor housing in the region of a groove which encircles the rim of the bearing plate. The pump housing is detachably arranged by an edge encircling the inside of the pump housing rim, on the bearing plate of the electric motor.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are described including a blood pump catheter that includes an axial shaft, and an impeller disposed on the axial shaft. A motor drives the impeller to pump blood, by rotating the impeller. A drive cable extends from the motor to the axial shaft, the drive cable being configured to impart rotational motion from the motor to the impeller by rotating. A distal tip portion is disposed at a distal end of the blood pump catheter. The drive cable, the axial shaft, and the distal tip portion define a continuous lumen therethrough from outside the subject's body to the distal end of the blood pump catheter. The continuous lumen facilitates insertion of the blood pump catheter into the subject's body over a guidewire, and, subsequently, provides a channel through which the purging fluid flows. Other applications are also described.

摘要: Systems and methods of restarting a downhole pump for pumping downhole fluid and located in a wellbore that include determining a pump reverse rotational frequency of a downhole pump caused by downhole fluid flowing in a downhole direction using a phase locked loop. A pump motor is driven at a motor reverse rotational frequency matching the pump reverse rotational frequency. The pump motor is then driven to accelerate the pump reverse rotational frequency and thereby pump the downhole fluid in an uphole direction. The pump motor is then driven to decrease the pump reverse rotational frequency while continuing to pump the downhole fluid in the uphole direction. The pump motor is then driven to change the rotation of the downhole pump to a forward rotation at a pump forward rotational frequency to pump the downhole fluid in the uphole direction.

摘要: A liquefied gas unloading and deep evacuation system may more quickly, more efficiently and more completely unload liquefied gases from transport tanks, such as rail cars, into stationary storage tanks or into truck tanks. The system may utilize a two stage compressor, an electric motor, a variable frequency drive, a four way valve, a three way valve, a two way valve, a programmable logic controller based control system and pressure and temperature transmitters. The valving enables deep evacuation of the transport or supply tank to more completely empty the transport tank. The programmable logic controller and variable speed drive may be used to variably control the speed of the two stage compressor so that the system may be running as fast as possible during changes in ambient temperature and/or different stages of offloading the liquefied gases without exceeding the compressor's horsepower limit.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are described including a left ventricular assist device. The left ventricular assist device includes an impeller configured to be placed inside a subject's left ventricle, and to pump blood from the subject's left ventricle to the subject's aorta, by rotating. A frame is disposed around the impeller. A tube traverses the subject's aortic valve, such that a proximal portion of the tube is disposed within the subject's aorta and a distal portion of the tube is disposed within the subject's left ventricle. The distal portion of the tube defines one or more blood inlet openings that are configured to allow blood to flow from the subject's left ventricle into the tube. A mesh is configured to prevent inner structures of the left ventricle from passing into the one or more blood inlet openings. Other applications are also described.

The impeller (5) has a non-limit load characteristic in a predetermined discharge flow-rate range (R). The inverter (10) is configured to drive the electric motor (7) at a preset target operating point (TO) with a rotation speed higher than a rotation speed corresponding to a power frequency of a commercial power source.
