Abstract:
A method is disclosed for instructing a user interface (UI) in communication with a first of vision processor (VP) to establish communication with a second (VP). The invention is useful in a machine vision system having a plurality of VPs and at least one UI. The method includes the steps of providing each VP with a link function for establishing communication between a VP and a UI; and activating the link function so as to issue instructions to the UI to establish communication with another VP. The link function enables local dynamic display of a remote VP on the UI, and a dynamic connection that provides a continually updated display representing a current state of the VP connected to the UI. An operator may observe results and alter parameters on any of the VPs in the system without having to first understand the architecture of the machine vision system.

Abstract:
A wind blade spar cap laminate repair for wind turbine rotor blades, a repair kit to repair spar cap laminate damage, and a method of repairing damage on wind turbine rotor blades is provided. The wind blade spar cap laminate repair includes a prepared surface, an adhesive region disposed on the prepared surface, and a repair disposed on the adhesive region, wherein the adhesive region sufficiently bonds the repair to the prepared surface to substantially match the mechanical properties of the bulk of the wind turbine rotor blade.
Abstract:
An omnidirectional dual band antenna system includes a radome and an antenna in the radome. The antenna has a linear array of lower frequency band driven elements, a linear array of higher frequency band driven elements and a linear array of parasitic elements, spaced in parallel planes with the array of higher frequency band driven elements in the middle. The parasitic elements couple to the higher frequency band driven elements and reshape the radiation pattern of the higher frequency band driven elements to correct for distortion caused by the lower frequency band driven elements.
Abstract:
Compounds having Formula (I), including pharmaceutically acceptable salts and prodrugs thereof: are selective inhibitors of the 11β-HSD1 enzyme. They inhibit the 11β-HSD1-mediated conversion of cortisone and other 11-keto-glucocorticoids to cortisol and other 11β-hydroxy-glucocorticoids. The 11β-HSD1 inhibitors therefore decrease the amount of cortisol in target tissues, thereby modulating the effects of cortisol. Modulation of cortisol may be effective in controlling non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM), hyperglycemia, obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, Syndrome X, and other symptoms associated with NIDDM or with excess cortisol in the body.
Abstract:
A driving simulation system is configured to train a driver. The system includes a simulated driver cockpit which includes a steering wheel and at least one video display providing a simulated driving environment to the driver. The system further includes a computerized simulation control module including programming configured to operate a driving simulation through the simulated driver cockpit. The driving simulation includes driving rules. The programming is further configured to monitor performance of the driver during the driving simulation, compare the performance of the driver to the driving rules, and while the driving simulation is still in operation, provide untextualized feedback to the driver regarding performance of the driver.
Abstract:
A data stream is transferred through a parallel data bus while the read or write strobe is adjusted. The resultant data is compared to the original data to detect errors with each data line of the parallel bus. The results are displayed on a grid whereby the characteristics of each line of the data bus may be visually understood. The characteristic image of the performance of the data bus may be used for debugging the bus, as well as for other uses wherein the performance is very highly characterized.
Abstract:
The invention consists of a camera, light sources, lenses and software algorithms that are used to image and inspect semiconductor structures, including through infrared radiation. The use of various configurations of solid state lighting and software algorithms enhances the imaging and inspection.
Abstract:
Peptide analogs formed by replacing one or more, but not all, amino acids of a peptide chain with 1,2-dihydro-3(6H)-pyridinone, display an unusually strong tendency to assume a β-strand conformation and to enter into β-sheet-like interactions with peptides and other peptide analogs that engage in β-sheet-like interactions with peptides. The peptide analogs of this invention therefore have utility has β-strand mimics offering advantages over native peptides as well as β-strand mimics of the prior art.
Abstract:
A compact headrest stand designed to be selectively unfolded and used to support a user's head or hold a book or device diagonally over a support surface. The stand includes a lower member pivotally attached to an upper member. Formed on the opposite edge of the lower member is a downward extending lip configured to capture the edge of a support surface. The upper member includes a center void and two support arms each with a saddle clip. Attached to the saddle clips is a headrest assembly configured to support the user's forehead and facial bones. During use, the upper member is diagonally aligned over the lower member and the headrest assembly which is elevated position above said lower member, may swivel freely between the two arms. Attached to the lower member is rotating stop leaf that presses against and holds the upper member diagonally over the lower member. In a second embodiment, an intermediate member is disposed between the lower plate and the upper member.
