摘要: Methods and apparati for securely loading one or more computer software applications onto a tamper resistant module (TRM) (107) and for securely deleting one or more applications from the TRM. An embodiment of the invention comprises a method for determining, based at least upon an encrypted personalization data block, whether a TRM (107) is part of a qualified set of TRM's to accept loading of an application. Thereafter, the method provides for loading the application onto the TRM (107) only after the first step determines that the TRM (107) is qualified to accept the loading of the application. Another embodiment comprises a method for determining, based at least upon an encrypted personalization data block, whether a TRM (107) is part of a qualified set of TRM's to accept deleting of an application. Thereafter, the method provides for deleting the application from the TRM (107) only when the first step determines that the TRM (107) is qualified to accept the deleting of the application.

摘要: An improved nebulizer places a venturi in close proximity to or inside a patient's oral cavity. One or more medicine feed lines feeds the medicine to a location proximate to a venturi. One or more air curtain conduits may be positioned near the medicine feed line and the venturi and is fed by a source of air pressure to create a curtain of fluid flow to surround at least in part the flow path of the nebulized medication. This minimizes the amount of medication lost to the oral cavity and to the trachea and permits more medication to reach a patient's lungs. Medication contained in a patients exhalant can be filtered in an exhale conduit to prevent loss to the environment and can be recaptured for reuse.

摘要: A method for labeling the pixels within a selected visual area of at least one image frame containing that visual area from a sequence of image frames stored in memory and operative to be displayed on an interactive display so that a user may subsequently select the selected visual area on a pixel accurate, frame accurate basis. To label the selected visual area within an image frame, the scene within that image frame is segmented to identify the selected visual area, each pixel within that selected visual area is then labeled with an area identifier which is unique to that selected visual area, and the pixels containing the area identifiers are mapped into an item buffer. The item buffer is then compressed and stored within a labeled portion of memory linked with the stored frame image from which the item buffer was derived. When a user subsequently selects a pixel within any frame image of the sequence of frame images the pixel is decompressed within the labeled portion of memory corresponding to the pixel in the selected frame image to determine the area identifier for the selected pixel. This area identifier is then used for a number of purposes, such as to identify an area within the frame image corresponding to the selected pixel, or to cause some action related to the selected pixel to be performed.

摘要: The apparatus comprises a storage vessel (19) for abrasive particles, a source of pressurised carrier fluid and a first conduit (11) to convey at least a major proportion of the incoming carrier fluid to a nozzle (16). A second conduit (9) connects the source of carrier fluid to an inlet of the storage vessel (19) and a third conduit (18) connects its outlet to the nozzle (16). A switching device (6) is selectively operable either to allow a minor proportion of incoming carrier fluid to flow through the second conduit (9) to the storage vessel (19), or to direct all of the carrier fluid through the first conduit (11). When a minor proportion of carrier fluid is directed through the second conduit (9), abrasive particles in carrier fluid are discharged from storage vessel (19) into the third conduit (18). When all of the carrier fluid is directed through the first conduit (11), fluid from the second conduit is entrained, thereby reversing fluid flow in the second (9) and third (18) conduits. The source of pressurised carrier fluid is preferably an intensifier plunger pump which has bearing surfaces (203) to guide a reciprocating cylinder (204). One end of the reciprocating cylinder (204) is closed and carries a plunger (201) and a connection (215) for driving fluid to enter the cylinder for the pump return stroke. The other end of the cylinder (204) has a piston (205) movable within a fixed cylinder (206) on which driving fluid acts during the pump delivery stroke.

摘要: An air cleaner for a motor vehicle includes a housing having an air inlet opening, an air outlet opening, a secondary air inlet opening and at least one peripheral wall defining a chamber therein. An air filter element is provided and received into the chamber and positioned to separate the air inlet opening from the air outlet opening. A vacuum actuated valve is provided in the secondary air inlet opening of the housing and is in communication with a secondary air portion of a dirty face of the filter element. The valve configured and adapted to automatically change from a closed to an open state when a vacuum in the housing increases to a predetermined vacuum value and then to close when the vacuum decreases below the predetermined value, thereby permitting the vehicle engine to continue to operate even though airflow in the primary air intake may be obstructed.

摘要: A nozzle assembly (1) generates a jet (9) of water, or abrasive particles suspended in water, for use in an abrasive waterjet-cutting head. The nozzle assembly (1) comprises a nozzle element (5, 80, 84, 86, 91) with a tapering bore (7) therethrough, mounted to a carrier (2, 52) so that the bore (7) is connected coaxially to a passage (4) through the carrier (2, 52), the bore (7) and passage (4) preferably having the same diameter where they meet. The nozzle element comprises a superhard material, such as diamond, in the form of a solid body (5, 81, 83, 86) or a coating (90). The nozzle element is mounted to the carrier (2, 52) by a brazed or soldered joint (6), extending normally to a longitudinal axis of the passage (4) and bore (7).
