    Abstract: There is provided a computer implemented method of automatic segmentation of three dimensional (3D) anatomical region of interest(s) (ROI) that includes predefined anatomical structure(s) of a target individual, comprising: receiving 3D images of a target individual, each including the predefined anatomical structure(s), each 3D image is based on a different respective imaging modality. In one implementation, each respective 3D image is inputted into a respective processing component of a multi-modal neural network, wherein each processing component independently computes a respective intermediate, and the intermediate outputs are inputted into a common last convolutional layer(s) for computing the indication of segmented 3D ROI(s). In another implementation, each respective 3D image is inputted into a respective encoding-contracting component a multi-modal neural network, wherein each encoding-contracting component independently computes a respective intermediate output. The intermediate outputs are inputted into a single common decoding-expanding component for computing the indication of segmented 3D ROI(s).

    Abstract: Provided are methods and kits for classifying a subject as being more likely to have benign multiple sclerosis (BMS) or as being more likely to have typical relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Classification of multiple sclerosis disease course is performed by comparing a level of expression of at least one gene involved in the RNA polymerase I pathway in a cell of the subject to a reference expression data of said at least one gene obtained from a cell of at least one subject pre-diagnosed as having BMS and/or from a cell of at least one subject pre-diagnosed as having typical RRMS, thereby classifying the subject as being more likely to have BMS or as being more likely to have typical RRMS. Also provided are methods of diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis and methods of monitoring treatment efficiency.

    Abstract: An apparatus for use in tissue removal from a body organ is presented. The apparatus comprises a hand-held probe device, a rotating motor device and a connection assembly configured for removably interconnecting between the hand-held probe device and the rotating motor device. The hand-held probe device is disposable and comprises a housing having proximal and distal ends, a rotatable cutting tool extending distally from the distal end of the housing and being configured for cutting and removing tissue during rotation, and a transmission assembly passing inside the housing between the proximal and distal ends and being configured for transmitting rotational power to the rotatable cutting tool. The connection assembly is configured for engaging between the rotating motor device and the transmission assembly to thereby controllably rotate the cutting tool and remove tissue. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a control unit for controlling operation of the apparatus, the control unit comprises an activation mechanism for activating the rotatable cutting tool, and a controller configured for operating the activation mechanism to generate a single fixed activation signal of a known intensity and duration during a predetermined time interval, thereby restricting operation of the cutting tool during the time interval to the single activation signal only.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device, an assembly comprising the device and a method making use of same, the device comprising an elongated member extending between a first end and a second end, and a segment proximal to the second end extending along a longitudinal axis X, said segment comprises at least one depression axially extending along at least a portion of said segment and an external surface having a circumference C; and one or more blades with a cutting edge peripheral to C and the one or more blades extending along at least part of said segment; the first end comprising an engagement element for engagement with a grip unit comprising a rotor to cause rotation of said device about said axis upon actuation of the rotor and the second end comprising a tissue piercing tip. The device, assembly and method are useful in creating a channel in a biological soft tissue, such as a drainage channel in the sclero-corneal junction area of the eye. This may be useful in reducing intra-ocular pressure.
