Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image-viewing application. The application receives a selection of a help activation item in a graphical user interface (GUI) of the image-viewing application. The application displays help indicators for a first set of selectable GUI items. The application receives a selection of one of the first set of selectable GUI items. In response to receiving the selection, the application displays (i) a second set of GUI items and (ii) help indicators for the second set of GUI items, and removes the help indicators from the first set of selectable GUI items while maintaining the display of the first set of selectable GUI items.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method of transmitting images. The method automatically detects through a network a set of devices broadcasting wireless point-to-point communication services. The method displays a list of the set of devices to allow selection of a device in the set of devices. Upon receiving a selection of a particular device in the set of devices for receiving an image, the method identifies image data that represents the image. The method transmits the image data to the particular device for display on the particular device.
Abstract:
A non-transitory machine readable medium that has a computer program for adjusting color values of an image represented in a color space is described. The image includes several pixels. Each pixel includes a set of color values. The computer program receives a selection of a location on the image. The computer program determines a type of content that is associated with the selected location on the image. From several different image editing operations, the computer program selects a set of image editing operations based on the determined type of content. The computer program displays a set of user interface controls that is associated with the selected set of image editing operations.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image editing application that edits an image. The image editing application displays an image in a display area. The image editing application displays a rotatable user interface item. In response to receiving a user input, the image editing application rotates the rotatable user interface item. The image editing application rotates the image displayed in the display area based on the rotation of the rotatable user interface item.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a video recording device for capturing a video clip. The video recording device receives a selection of a non-temporally compressed encoding scheme from several different encoding schemes for encoding the video clip. The different encoding schemes include at least one temporally compressed encoding scheme and at least the selected non-temporally compressed encoding scheme. The video recording device captures the video clip as several frames. The video recording device non-temporally encodes each of the frames as several slices. The slices of a particular frame are for decoding by several processing units of a video decoding device. The video recording device stores the video clip in a storage.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a novel user interface (UI) tool that is a unified slider control, which includes multiple sliders that slide along a region. The region is a straight line in some embodiments, while it is an angular arc in other embodiments. In some embodiments, the unified slider control is used in a media editing application to allow a user to modify several different properties of the image by moving several different sliders along the region. Each slider is associated with a property of the image. A position of the slider in the region corresponds to a value of the property associated with the slider.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method of presenting several user interface (UI) controls for editing images. Upon receiving a selection of an image to edit, the method displays the image in a display area for displaying edits to the image. At a first location, the method receives input to activate a UI tool includes the several UI tools. In response to the input, the method displays, at a second location, a fanning animation that fans the several UI controls from a fanned closed layout to a fanned open layout.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method includes displaying, within a user interface in a digital media system, a media pane, and a project pane, displaying, within the media pane, a thumbnail group representing a media item, the thumbnail group comprising one or more thumbnails, enabling a user to select, from the thumbnail group, a segment of the media item, and enabling a user to transfer the selected segment to the project pane.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image-viewing application. The image-viewing application displays a thumbnail display area that includes several thumbnails that each correspond to an image. With a set of at least one thumbnail selected, the application receives selection input over a particular unselected thumbnail in the thumbnail display area. When the selection input lasts less than a threshold duration, application selects only the particular thumbnail and displays the image corresponding to the particular thumbnail in an image display area. When the selection input lasts at least the threshold duration, the application adds the particular thumbnail to the set of selected thumbnails and displays the images corresponding to each of the selected thumbnails in the image display area.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image editing application that edits an image. The image editing application assigns a mask value to each pixel of the image that includes several pixels. The mask value for a pixel is for using when processing the pixel. The image editing application displays the image in a display area. The image editing application receives several user inputs on a set of pixels of the image. The image editing application incrementally applies an image processing operation to the set of pixels by changing the mask values for the set of pixels each time the set of pixels receives a user input.
