Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image editing application that edits an image. The image editing application displays an image in a display area. The image editing application displays a rotatable user interface item. In response to receiving a user input, the image editing application rotates the rotatable user interface item. The image editing application rotates the image displayed in the display area based on the rotation of the rotatable user interface item.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a method of presenting several user interface (UI) controls for editing images. Upon receiving a selection of an image to edit, the method displays the image in a display area for displaying edits to the image. At a first location, the method receives input to activate a UI tool includes the several UI tools. In response to the input, the method displays, at a second location, a fanning animation that fans the several UI controls from a fanned closed layout to a fanned open layout.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for resizing windows and an apparatus for resizing windows. The method, in one embodiment, involves selecting a seam bordering a window, building a list of windows, and resizing more than one window in response to a single seam movement by a user. The apparatus, in one embodiment, is a computer readable medium comprising a computer program for resizing windows.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and/or computer program products that help facilitate visual presentation composition may include, in one aspect, executing one or more processes executing on a computer system to present a user of a computer system with movie templates, each movie template having a corresponding theme and a sequence of shot placeholders, each shot placeholder including graphical indicia representing one or more desirable characteristics specific to that shot placeholder; receiving information from the user including a movie template selection and a selection of one or more video clips corresponding to desirable characteristics indicated by the shot placeholders; and generating a playable media file representing a movie based on the information received from the user.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating a grayscale image. The method and apparatus receive a single value. From the single value, the method and apparatus generate a set of grayscale weighting values. The method and apparatus generate the grayscale based on a color image and the set of grayscale weighting values. By limiting the number of values to a single value, the method and apparatus prevents a user from arbitrarily selecting a number of possible weighting values which could result in a grayscale image that is too dim or too bright. This single control method and apparatus quickly and efficiently produces a grayscale image that is neither too bright nor too dim.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a video recording device for capturing a video clip. The video recording device receives a selection of a non-temporally compressed encoding scheme from several different encoding schemes for encoding the video clip. The different encoding schemes include at least one temporally compressed encoding scheme and at least the selected non-temporally compressed encoding scheme. The video recording device captures the video clip as several frames. The video recording device non-temporally encodes each of the frames as several slices. The slices of a particular frame are for decoding by several processing units of a video decoding device. The video recording device stores the video clip in a storage.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing digital images is provided. A collection of digital images may be managed using a digital image system that displays images using groups, stacks, and versions. A group is a set of unordered digital images that may be visually represented, in a first state, using a representative image, and in a second state, by each digital image in the group. Stacks are similar to groups, except that each digital image in a stack has a rank, and each digital image in the stack is depicted in order of its rank. Versions are similar to groups, except that one or more images in the group are derived from another image in the group.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image-viewing application. The image-viewing application includes a first GUI for right-handed users and a second GUI for left-handed users. The first GUI includes an image-selection window on the left side of the GUI, a first set of GUI items in a first particular order from left to right and a second set of GUI items in a second particular order from left to right. the second GUI includes the image-selection window on the right side of the GUI, the first set of GUI items in the first particular order from right to left and the second set of GUI items in the second particular order from left to right. In some embodiments, the right-handed GUI displays a particular tool in a first orientation, while the left-handed GUI displays the particular tool in a second orientation.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide an image organizing and editing application for creating and sharing a journal. In some embodiments, the application allows a user to select media content and creates the journal by populating it with the selected content. Once the journal is created, the application allows the user to share the journal by publishing it to a website. The website may be a public website. In some embodiments, the application provides a control that can be selected to specify whether the journal is published to the website.
