Abstract: A self organizing network within a software defined networking environment is provided to allow for fast updating of radio access network parameters which enables optimization algorithms to converge on optimized configurations very quickly. The self organizing network is enabled by providing a self organizing network manager plug-in within a software defined networking environment that interfaces with a radio access network plug-in via a service abstraction layer to quickly obtain base station device parameters, iteratively adjust the base station device parameters to obtain optimized radio access network configurations to mitigate outages, reduce power consumption, manage load, or provide other benefits.

Abstract: Multiple access wireless communication networks/infrastructures are virtualized in telecommunications environments. A system replicates a cell identifier associated with a macro base station device to create a virtual base station device presence for a set of network devices included in the multiple access wireless communication network and thereafter facilitates communication with the multiple access wireless communication network, the set of network devices, and a mobile device through the created virtual base station presence.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards an automation agent for network equipment configuration. The automation agent can be incorporated into a network automation platform. The network automation platform can include, inter alia, a communication channel, such as a data movement as a platform (DMaaP) communication channel, which is used by various components of the network automation platform. The disclosed automation agent can monitor the communication channel for network equipment configuration communications generated by other components of the network automation platform. In response to a network equipment configuration communication, the automation agent can create an interface update file comprising the updated interface configuration data, and send the interface update file to a network equipment configuration update service for deployment to the network equipment.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards automated configuration enforcement in wireless communication systems, which can be implemented in an audit manager (e.g. an ONAP micro-service) as part of an overall architecture. The audit manager obtains misconfiguration data representing misconfigured configurable parameter data of network elements of a radio access network, and corrective parameter data corresponding to the misconfiguration data. The audit manager issues a reconfiguration action to the network elements, which instructs the network elements to reconfigure their current configurable parameter data based on the corrective parameter data. Following reconfiguration, the audit manager operates to monitor the network elements performance, e.g., to check for performance degradation of a cell site relative to previous performance metrics.

Abstract: A processing system may apply a data set comprising utilization metrics of a cells of a cell sector to a throughput prediction model to obtain a first predicted throughput for the cell sector for a designated future time period and for all cells being in an active state. The processing system may generate a first modified data set simulating a first cell being placed in an inactive state, by distributing utilization metrics of the first cell over at least one additional cell, and may apply the first modified data set to the throughput prediction model to obtain a second predicted throughput. The processing system may then determine that the second predicted throughput meets a threshold throughput that is based on the first predicted throughput, and transmit at least one instruction to place the first cell in the inactive state for the designated future time period in response to the determining.

Abstract: A scalable virtualized network core is provided to allow for incrementally adjusting network resources in response to changing demand, and for improved flexibility in network management and control. The scalable virtualized network core provides a cloud evolved packet core that has virtual machines performing the functions of the individual server elements. As demand for network resources changes, additional virtual machines can be brought online or virtual machines can be terminated to efficiently address the demand. An abstraction agent can be provided to facilitate the physical to logical connections so that to the perspective of elements in a radio access network, no changes have been made. The abstraction agent also facilitates network control and management of the virtual machines.
