Abstract:
A flat tire airbag system has an inner tube having an inner portion adapted to be mounted upon the wheel of the pneumatic tire, and an outer portion adapted to support the tire when inflated. A tire pressure monitoring system is operably mounted to monitor pressure within the pneumatic tire, and an airbag inflation mechanism is provided for automatically inflating the inner tube responsive to the tire pressure monitoring system detecting a loss of pressure within the pneumatic tire.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for dispensing fluids into an air line comprises a container having a valve so as to selectively open the container to allow flow of fluids therefrom, the container being configured with a circumferential channel and with a circumferential groove about its perimeter. The apparatus further comprises a cap having a ring configured to engage the groove so as to rotatably mount the cap onto the container, the cap being further configured with a post formed so as to selectively engage the channel and selectively allow the cap to move axially along the container to actuate the valve. A nozzle extends longitudinally from the cap and is configured with multiple apertures and a spiral thread thereabout so as to be threadably inserted into the air line and dispense fluids therein upon actuation of the valve.

Abstract:
A fluid exchange is provided through the wall of a canister using a clamp having a pair of jaws enabled for gripping the canister. The pair of jaws provides a tubular entry device positioned for penetrating the canister when the jaws are tightened on the canister. The entry device provides a hole cutter and a hole sealer. The pair of jaws also provides a rotational conformal surface for nesting contact with the canister so as to improve the ability of the clamp to secure itself on the canister.
Abstract:
A spent transmission fluid is drained from a transmission and replaced with new fluid. The transmission's converter forces the spent fluid into a spent fluid container, while air displaced by the entering spent fluid is forced into a second container holding a new replacement fluid. The second container is thereby pressurized and the new fluid is thus forced through an interconnecting conduit line into the dipstick tube so as to replace the spent fluid flowing out. The spent fluid leaving the transmission causes suction to appear at the dipstick tube which sucks the new fluid into the transmission. To assure that this suction is maintained, the dipstick tube is sealed so that the system is closed.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a wheeled cart, and mounted on the wheeled cart a plurality of containers placed in adjacent upright attitudes. A support framework engages the wheeled cart and further provides a support framework engaging an operator's panel with operator's controls. A suction developing device, pressure developing device, conduit switching device, and conduit manifolding device, are enabled for acting together to apply vacuum and pressure exertion on fluids for driving such fluids between the containers and an automotive radiator through a system of conduits.
Abstract:
A reusable patch adhesively bondable to the inside of a tire. Disposed within the patch is at least one sensor that generates a radially outwardly directed signal and senses a reflection thereof from the tire's outer surface. Circuitry means is connected to the receiver for receiving data representative of the original and reflected signal and calculating a distance measurement representative of the distance between the sensor and the reflection point. Communication means then transmit the appropriate data to indicator means, which triggers a indicator to alert the driver of a tire failure or potential tire failure.
Abstract:
A hand tool apparatus for bleeding a hydraulic line at a fitting, including a fitting engagement portion, a fitting pressure portion, a laterally oriented fitting torquing portion and a fluid conducting portion wherein the fitting engagement portion is an open jaw with a non-round flange fitted to a non-round portion of the hydraulic line fitting, the fitting pressure portion is a cylindrical housing engaged with the fluid conducting portion, the fluid conducting portion is a flexible tube, and the fitting torquing portion is a pair of handles adapted by a hinge pin for mutual rotation to move the fitting engagement portion relative to the fitting pressure portion.
Abstract:
Replacing fluid in a sealed system interconnected by fluid conduction tubes with a lower port of a spent fluid container and a lower port of a new fluid container. A fluid pump is interconnected by the fluid conductors in such manner as to suck air from an upper port of the spent fluid container, thereby urging spent fluid from the system into the spent fluid container, and simultaneously forcing air into an upper port of the new fluid container thereby urging new fluid into the system to replace the spent fluid.
Abstract:
A method of replacing fluid in an automotive system requires interconnecting a radiator fill port of the radiator with a first external tank through a closed control valve, disconnecting an upper hose from an upper radiator port and reconnecting the upper hose to a second external tank containing a replacement fluid. The system is sealed so that fluids are constrained for movement only within and between the engine, radiator and external tanks through the various hoses. When a pressure differential is applied within the system, fluid is forced from the automotive system into the first external tank, while automatically refilling the automotive system with the replacement fluid from the second external tank.
