    Abstract: A valve assembly is configured to secure on a hole of a rim on which a tire having at least two air chambers is mounted. The valve assembly includes a main body, a securing means, at least two valve bodies and at least two valves. The main body includes at least two transfer air passage respectively connected to each of the air chambers. The securing means is configured to secure the main body and also the at least two valve bodies on the rim. The at least two valve bodies are respectively disposed on the main body and each of the at least two valve bodies has an inlet air passage connected to one of the transfer air passages of the main body. The at least two valves are respectively attached to each of the at least two valve bodies.

    Abstract: A tire apparatus is provided, the apparatus including a tire body for attachment to a wheel rim to define a first inflatable volume. An inner chamber defines a second inflatable volume which is located within the first inflatable volume of the tire body. A first fluid communication path is provided between the first and second inflatable volumes and a second fluid communication path is provided between the first inflatable volume and the atmosphere. A first valve opens and closes the first fluid communication path, and a second valve opens and closes the second fluid communication path. The tensile strength and pressure-containing capacity of the material structure of the second inflatable volume is greater than that of the tire first inflatable volume. A first fluid pressure within the first inflatable volume of the tire body is optimisable by opening the first valve to allow pressure transfer from the second inflatable volume into the tire body, and/or opening the second valve to allow pressure to vent from the tire body to atmosphere. A vehicle wheel and active tire pressure control system incorporating the tire apparatus are also provided.

    Abstract: A multiple chamber pneumatic tire having an upper section and a lower section. A diaphragm separates the upper section from the lower section. The lower section has at least two chambers. The chambers each have a chamber valve, a nail guard layer, a plurality of fibers having an end connected to an inner wall surface of a chamber, and an interconnected barrier connected to at least two portions of a chamber wall surface. The upper section of the tire has at least one linkage located within at least one tube with a primary end connected to a chamber valve of a chamber and a secondary end connected to a tire rim or to a main valve. A tire pressure monitoring system can be in communication with a chamber valve. The tire can have a ring with at least one retractable stud.

    Abstract: A wheel provided with a tire in tire installation in which an outer ground engaging tire is mounted on a rim of the wheel and an inner inflatable member is mounted on the rim inside the outer tire. The inner surface of the outer tire and the outer surface of the inner inflatable member are provided with respective electrically conductive members suitably in the form of induction loops. A controller determines when the respective electrically conductive members come into close proximity or contact, enabling manual or automated adjustment of air pressure to minimize abrasion between the outer tire and inner inflatable member.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an explosion-proof tire, comprising a safety airbag, trigger sensors and a safety switch, wherein the safety airbag is arranged between a tire and a hub; the hub is provided with grooves; trigger devices of the safety airbag are arranged in the grooves; one end of each trigger sensor sticks into the tire; and the other end thereof is connected with a trigger device. The safety switch is arranged on the valve stem of the tire; and positive and negative electrodes on the valve stem are each connected with a trigger device.The safety switch disclosed by the present invention ensures that the safety airbag will not be triggered accidentally, and when a vehicle tire bursts, the safety airbag provided can instantly provide enough support force to ensure traffic safety.

In one embodiment a tire insert assembly includes an elastomeric tire insert constructed to be received within a tire, the tire having sidewalls and a tread portion.
