Abstract: A building management system comprising a plurality of sensors, each sensor of the plurality of sensors configured to detect a condition of the building is disclosed. The system may further comprise a memory for storing one or more events, each event configured to identify an action from a sequence of sensed conditions, a communications module configured to communicate with a remote device over a network, and a controller operatively coupled to the first sensor, the second sensor, the memory, and the communications module. The controller may be configured to compare the plurality of sensed conditions to the one or more events to identify an action and determine what, if any response is required, and if a response is required, provide a notification to the remove device via the communications module.

Abstract: A voice activated knowledge management system may be used as a virtual assistant. In some cases, a knowledge management system may be configured to receive a voice request from a user, generate and send a knowledge base query to each of the two or more different knowledge base engines, and fuse the resulting responses from the knowledge base engines, resulting in a fused response. The fused response may be provided back to the user as a response to the voice request and/or may be provided as a device command to control a corresponding device.

Abstract: An HVAC controller may be controlled in response to a natural language audio message that is not recognizable by the HVAC controller as a command, where the natural language audio message is translated into a command recognizable by the HVAC controller. The HVAC controller may be a thermostat and may include a housing that at least partially houses a control module, a microphone, a speaker, a display, and a voice recognition module. The voice recognition module recognizes a predetermined audible trigger from a recorded voice message or streamed voice message, and in response, provide one or more audio clips via the speaker and/or video clips via the display to assist users in operating the thermostat. A user may communicate with the thermostat via the thermostat and/or a remote device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying user-customized relevant individuals in an ambient image at a doorbell device are provided. Such systems and methods can include receiving user input that includes image information, using the image information to compile a custom image database containing a plurality of images that depict such relevant individuals, and storing the custom image database in local memory of the doorbell device. Then, such systems and methods can include capturing an ambient image with a camera of the doorbell device, determining whether any person depicted in the ambient image matches any of the relevant individuals by comparing the ambient image to the plurality of images at the doorbell device, and generating an alert when any person depicted in the ambient image matches any of the relevant individuals.
