    Abstract: A gas sensor is disclosed. The gas sensor can include a housing that has an upper portion and a lower portion. The gas sensor can also include a chamber that is formed in the lower portion of the housing. The chamber can be configured to receive an electrochemical solution. The gas sensor can also include a plurality of electrodes that are formed in the upper portion of the housing. The plurality of electrodes can be molded in the upper portion of the housing and at least partially exposed to the chamber. The gas sensor can further include an access port that is formed in the upper portion. The access port can be configured to provide fluid communication between the an interior of the housing and the outside environs. The gas sensor can be a system-in-package (SiP) sensor.

    Abstract: Electrochemical sensors typically include capillaries or openings in a substrate which allow the gas present in the environment to make its way into the sensor. The present disclosure proposes the use of a hydrophobic layer, coating or surface in various arrangements around these openings in order to help prevent or restrict electrolyte leaving the sensor and also prevent moisture or other liquids entering the sensor. In some such electrochemical sensors, the hydrophobic layer acts to prevent or restrict electrolyte from drying out or leaving the sensor. In other such electrochemical sensors, there is a porous electrode and a liquid electrolyte, with the hydrophobic layer repelling the electrolyte from passing through the electrode and out of the electrochemical sensor. In yet other such electrochemical sensors, the sensor is manufactured forming at least one layer of hydrophobic material in order to help prevent or restrict electrolyte from drying out or from leaving the sensor, and also prevent or restrict moisture or other liquids entering the sensor.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and systems for reducing interference by one or more bubbles in a sensing assembly. Bubble prevention arrangements can use surfaces located in a fluid channel to provide surfaces with higher affinity for bubbles relative to the other surfaces so that the surface retains one or more bubbles within a bubble collection region; and/or to divert at least a portion of any bubbles passing through an opening in the fluid channel. Additionally or alternatively, bubble prevention arrangements comprise an agitation device configured to agitate liquid within the fluid channel. Additionally or alternatively, bubble prevention arrangements are configured to displace one or more bubbles in a region on or adjacent the sensing surface so as to reduce interference of one or more bubbles on the sensing surface.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for reference electrodes are disclosed. In one aspect, a measurement system includes a pseudo-reference electrode configured to provide a reference potential and a dependence electrode configured to generate a dependence potential when exposed to a sample. Both the reference potential and the dependence potential vary based on a property of the sample. An electrochemical sensor includes the pseudo-reference electrode and the dependence electrode.
