Abstract: Selection of time-frequency resources, for autonomous mode operation of V2V UEs, may be performed based on measurements of power transmitted by other UEs and received sidelink control information (SCI) transmitted by the other UEs. Based on these measurements, the UE may selectively exclude spectrum resources, from the set of possible resources, to obtain a final set of resources from which the UE may select resources to use for transmitting. In some implementations, the exclusion of the resources may be based on an iterative operation in which a power threshold value is incrementally modified until a candidate number of resources are available. Additionally, in some implementations, UE priority assignments may be used to obtain the power threshold value for a particular UE.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) configured for communication of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources is disclosed. The UE can decode a radio resource control (RRC) signal indicating an SRS to transmit with a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), wherein the PUCCH and the SRS are quasi co located (QCLed) based on a spatial received parameter. The UE can encode an SRS for transmission using the spatial received parameter. The UE can encode uplink control information (UCI) for transmission in the PUCCH using the spatial received parameter. The UE can have a memory interface configured to send to a memory the spatial received parameter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media for reserving radio resources for sidelink (SL) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmissions are described. In embodiments, a user equipment may select to create an SL grant when a configuration indicates to transmit SL transmissions based on sensing using indicated resources. And when a number of consecutive unused transmission opportunities on the indicated resources is equal to a configured value, the UE may release all currently reserved radio resources, set a resource reservation interval, and select a set of resources spaced by the resource reservation interval as reserved resources for transmission of the one or more sidelink transmissions. In one embodiment, for example, a user equipment (UE) may comprise logic, at least a portion of which is in hardware, the logic to associate the UE with a pico evolved node B (eNB) in a time-division duplex (TDD) picocell, identify an incongruent uplink (UL) sub-frame for the picocell, and select an enhanced UL transmit power for the incongruent UL sub-frame. Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform demodulation of device-to-device (D2D) communication signals or LTE uplink signals in a User Equipment. In a transmitter, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) generation circuitry is provided for selective insertion of DMRS signals in resource elements of resource blocks of the signal for transmission using a pattern of resource elements spanning at least one of the resource blocks such that a minimum temporal spacing between consecutive symbols of the demodulation reference signal pattern is less than one slot. In a receiver the DMRS signals are used to perform channel estimation. A user equipment having the DMRS generation circuitry is provided. A computer program product is also provided. Abstract: Embodiments described herein related generally to techniques for device discovery for device-to-device (D2D) communications. A user equipment (UE) may receive a transmission probability (e.g., from an evolved Node B (eNB)) for transmission of a discovery medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) for D2D communications. The UE may determine a pseudo-random number based on an identifier of the UE, information in the discovery MAC PDU, or information associated with a discovery period. The UE may compare the pseudo-random number with the transmission probability to determine whether to transmit the discovery MAC PDU in the discovery period. Another UE may also determine the pseudo-random number to determine whether the UE is to transmit the discovery MAC PDU in the discovery period. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: Systems and methods of providing RAT co-existence and congestion control in V2V communications are generally described. A vUE detects specific non-LTE RAT transmissions in a listening period of a PSCCH or PSSCH, determines whether a metric has been met and reselects to a non-overloaded channel to communicate with other vUEs or the eNB. The manner of reselection is dependent on the RAT specific or V2X service priorities of the channels, as well as whether the channels are V2V service dependent.
