In one embodiment, the incoming call alerting device, such as the vibrator motor, is used to provide refocusing actuation. In another embodiment, the telephone unit is a “flip phone” and the hinging operations store actuation force for refocusing operations. A ratchet cam may be used in the refocusing arrangement of the image capture capability.

A method of neutralizing contaminants for an optical mouse comprises providing a mouse containing an optics module having at least one surface exposed to an opening of the mouse and interposing a barrier in the mouse between a contaminant and the at least one exposed surface. A method of detecting contaminants comprises aligning an optics module of a mouse with an imaging surface, obtaining a first image of the imaging surface, via application of coherent illumination from the optics module to the imaging surface, analyzing the first image to identify an interference pattern associated with a contaminant, alerting a user if a parameter of the interference pattern exceeds a threshold value.

    摘要: A double-molded lens for an LED includes an outer lens molded around the periphery of an LED die and a collimating inner lens molded over the top surface of the LED die and partially defined by a central opening in the outer lens. The outer lens is formed using silicone having a relatively low index of refraction such as n=1.33-1.47, and the inner lens is formed of a higher index silicone, such as n=1.54-1.76, to cause TIR within the inner lens. Light not internally reflected by the inner lens is transmitted into the outer lens. The shape of the outer lens determines the side emission pattern of the light. The front and side emission patterns separately created by the two lenses may be tailored for a particular backlight or automotive application.

Unselected images can be discarded. The camera can include a FIFO buffer that receives image data from an image sensor as the image sensor captures images. When a photographer activates a shutter button, an analysis system, which may be implemented in software, analyzes the images in the FIFO buffer and selects the best-focused image for output. In alternative embodiments, the movement of the lens and the capture of the images can be before or in response to activation of the shutter button.

    摘要: Optical projection systems for the display of electronic images often suffer from degraded image quality due to color field registration errors caused by lateral chromatic aberration. Although most projection lenses are partially corrected for lateral chromatic aberration during the design process, the uncorrected residual aberration limits the imaging performance of many projection displays, especially when displaying text and graphics with single-pixel-wide features. Some embodiments of the invention correct color field registration errors due to lateral chromatic aberration in multiple-imager projection systems. Other embodiments of the invention correct radial distortion and keystone distortion in single-imager and multiple-imager projection displays. In some embodiments of the invention, the imager(s) pixel geometry is arranged to compensate for optical aberrations, which result from the optical system so as to achieve a corrected image.
