Abstract:
A magnetic write head and method of manufacture thereof that has a first pole structure having a step notched first pole structure. The step notched structure includes a bottom notched portion that is wider than the second notched portion formed thereover. The upper, or narrower, notched portion has a width that is substantially equal to and self aligned with a second pole structure (P2) formed thereover. The invention may also include first and second wing portions formed in the first pole that are recessed from the ABS and that extend laterally from the first notched portions of the first pole. The formation of the winged portions is assisted by an ion mill resistant bump (alumina bump) formed thereover, which acts as a mask during the ion milling operations that are used to form the first and second notches.
Abstract:
Ultrasonic sensors and associated methods for on-line monitoring of material properties for die casting, molding and extrusion processes at elevated temperatures are disclosed. The sensors include the use of ultrasonic waveguides embedded in the processing machines and piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers. The sensors are operated in the reflection geometry in which one side access of the processing machines is required. The monitoring parameters are the flow front, gap development and temperature of the materials being processed and filled in the cavities of the die in casting processes and the mold in injection molding, and the temperature and viscosity of the molten polymers in the polymer extrusion machines. Piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers made of high Curie temperature materials, fabricated by sol-gel techniques and directly deposited on top of the ultrasonic waveguides or the external walls of the shot sleeve of the die caster, die of the die caster, mold of the injection molding machine or barrel of the extruder are also used.
Abstract:
A rich air sprayer of sanitary ware has a base, the base is disposed with at least two waterways; each waterway includes an inlet hole, a mutation cavity connected to the inlet hole and an air inlet hole connected to the mutation cavity, the flow area of the inlet hole is smaller than that of the mutation cavity, negative pressure is generated inside the mutation cavity when the water flows from the inlet hole into the mutation cavity, the negative pressure makes the mutation cavity suck air from the outside of the sprayer through the air inlet hole, the air and the water are mixed to form bubbles; the outlets of the mutation cavities intersect or the tangents of the outlets of the mutation cavities intersect, making the water flowing out of the outlets of the mutation cavities collide to enhance the granular sensation.
Abstract:
A touch switch outlet mechanism has a fixation unit and a switch unit. The fixation unit includes an inlet waterway connected to the water source, a water diversion cavity connected to the inlet waterway, N number of water diversion holes connected to the water diversion cavity and several outlet functions with same number as the water diversion holes and one to one corresponding to the water diversion holes, N is equal to or more than 2; The switch unit includes N−1 number of sealing balls and N touch buttons, the N touch buttons are separately disposed with a touch end inside the water diversion cavity and a controlled end controlled by the user, the touch ends of the N touch buttons corresponding to N water diversion holes and sliding connected to the fixation unit, the N−1 sealing balls can close N−1 of the N water diversion holes.
Abstract:
A method of estimating an injection power of seed light injected into an injection-seeded transmitter. A back face monitoring (BFM) response of the injection-seeded transmitter is determined, and data representative of the BFM response stored in a memory. During run-time, a controller of the injection-seeded transmitter, detects a temperature of the injection-seeded transmitter and an instantaneous BFM current. BFM response data is obtained from the memory based on the detected temperature, and the seed light injection power estimated based on the obtained data and the detected instantaneous BFM current.

Abstract:
Described is a method for controlling the wavelength of a laser in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) system. The method includes generating broadband light having a dithered optical power and a wavelength spectrum that includes a plurality of WDM wavelengths. The broadband light is spectrally filtered to generate a spectrally-sliced optical signal having a wavelength spectrum that includes one of the WDM wavelengths. The spectrally-sliced optical signal is injected into a laser and a dithered optical power of the laser is determined. A parameter of the laser is controlled in response to the determination of the dithered optical power to thereby align a wavelength of the laser to the wavelength spectrum of the spectrally-sliced optical signal.
Abstract:
One or more embodiments of the present invention provide a novel composition for gene delivery are directed to a group of polysaccharide polymers, having one or more nucleic acid delivery side chains comprising cationic peptides. In some embodiments, these cationic peptides condense and physically bond to one or more nucleic acids to form a polysaccharide-nucleic acid complex that permits delivery to and transfection of the nucleic acid(s) into cells. In some embodiments, the polysaccharide polymers of the present invention may also have one or more zwitterionic side chains and/or reactive side chains.
