    摘要: In wireless communications, a method and system for enhancing signal decoding capability in null areas uses dithering to break up or modify the null areas. The null areas form in overlapping regions of the beams of two antennas or in overlapping regions of a single signal that is subject to multipath. Dithering is used to spread the null areas over a wider region so that a WTRU in an overlap region will not statically remain within a null area.

    摘要: A wireless communication method of exploiting the radio frequency (RF) physical environment to establish a sufficient number of usable multiple paths of RF propagation for facilitating communications. The method is implemented in a wireless communication system including at least one transmitter and at least one receiver. The receiver's antenna is directed towards one of a plurality of reception paths and receives a data stream from the transmitter via the reception path that the receiver antenna is directed towards. The receiver decodes the data stream, reconstructs a modulation pattern of the decoded data stream, and subtracts the reconstructed data stream from a sum of all of the signals received by the receiver via the reception paths. The receiver provides received signal direction information associated with reception paths to the transmitter. The transmitter adjusts and/or eliminates one or more of the reception paths that are unusable based on the signal direction information.

    摘要: An instrument, article and method are provided for minimizing pain during administration by injection of a liquid, such as, an anesthetic. The instrument has a forward end. A rod or lightpipe mounted freely for vibration projects out of the forward end. The article, a single use tip, is composed of a tip sleeve removably mounted on the forward end of the instrument and a tip member removably mounted on the projecting rod or lightpipe to vibrate a preselected injection site on a human or animal. The tip sleeve and tip member are covered by an elastic overmold that enables the tip member to vibrate freely with respect to the tip sleeve and light from the lightpipe to illuminate the injection site. The overmold of the single use tip is torn during removal of the single use tip from the instrument.

    摘要: A technique automatically handles a failure during online data migration from a source array to a target array. While a host initially accesses data from the source array using multipath I/O software, the technique involves (i) transitioning the source array to a passive mode, and the target array to an active mode, and (ii) beginning a data transfer operation which transfers data from the source array to the target array. The technique further involves modifying the data on both the target array and the source array in response to modification commands sent to the target array from the host while the data transfer operation is ongoing. The technique further involves automatically failing back to providing access to the data from the source array in response to an event in which the target array loses communication with the source array for a predefined amount of time.

    摘要: A method for operating a CDMA communications device includes receiving at an antenna array M different summations from a mixture of source signals provided by M signal sources, and providing the M different summations to a receiver assembly. The receiver assembly includes a first signal path and a second signal path parallel to the first signal path. In the first signal path, a mixing matrix including the M different summations of the M source signals is formed, and at least one source signal is separated from the mixing matrix. A determination is made if the separated source signal is an interferer source signal. In the second signal path, the M different summations are delayed corresponding to a delay introduced in the first signal path. The first signal path provides to a summer the separated source signal if the separated source signal is an interferer source signal, and the second signal path provides to the summer the M different summations after being delayed. The summer removes the interferer source signal if present from the M different summations after being delayed.
