摘要: A computer-implemented system is provided for distributing product updates to medical devices. An update interface residing on a distribution platform is configured to distribute product updates and maintain a log of such distributions in an audit database. A configuration device in data communication with the update interface registers itself with the update interface and downloads product updates from the update interface, such that the registration includes providing identifying information for the configuration device and a user of the configuration device. A medical device in data communication with the configuration device registers itself with the configuration device and downloads a particular product update from the configuration device, such that the configuration device creates a record of the particular product update and communications the record of the particular product update to the update interface. In this way, product updates distributed via the configuration device are recorded and tracked for regulatory purposes.

摘要: The present teachings provide a system for modifying insulin therapy support parameters such as warning limit data and time block data on a hand-held diabetes management device. The system can include a graphical user interface module that creates a graphical user interface having a plurality of bar structures positionable on or between a first line that indicates an upper limit and a second line that illustrates a lower limit. Each of the bar structures can have a first side that indicates a start time of a time window opposite a second side that indicates an end time of the time window and a third side that indicates a lower target value for a blood glucose level opposite a fourth side that indicates an upper target value for the blood glucose level. The bar structures, the first line and the second line can be adjustable by a user input.

摘要: An approach is disclosed for accomplishing redundancy in the central processor units of a remote multiplexer terminal (RMT). Through execution of a stored software program the RMT receives data from input/output devices, processes that data and transmits it to external equipment. The system uses two central processor units (CPU's), each with its own input/output (I/O) bus. Both CPU's actively and continuously monitor the status of the I/O subsystems. The software program designates one CPU as the "Master", the other CPU as the "Slave". The CPU designated as "Master" performs active control functions so long as error detection circuitry within each CPU determines that the operational status of the "Master" is good. Error detection is accomplished by incorporation of a "Watch Dog Timer" in each CPU. A failing CPU is redesignated to be a Slave (and is halted) and the previously designated Slave CPU is redesignated as a Master. Since it has been "shadowing" the old Master CPU, the new Master CPU has a current record of the status of the I/O subsystems stored in its memory. Using this data, the new Master CPU assumes control over all of the I/O functions that were previously being controlled by the old Master CPU. No physical switchover occurs - only a software failover.

摘要: This invention concerns a programmable counter which can be preset to provide an output indication one pulse after the count of the incoming signal pulse train has reached the integer M, where M equals any binary real number over the range (0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, . . ., 32,768). The programmable counter can be preset to any one of the binary numbers using a 4 digit word.

摘要: A method of providing guidance using a portable hand-held electronic device in administration of a medicine by a patient is provided. The method includes acquiring image data of a first container of a first medicine prescribed to the patient and acquiring image data of a second container of a second medicine prescribed to the patient. The second container is different visually from the first container. The image data of the first container and the second container is stored in memory of the electronic device. On the portable hand-held electronic device, an instruction is processed to administer at least one of the first medicine and the second medicine to the patient. The stored image data is retrieved from memory corresponding to the at least one of the first medicine and the second medicine to be administered in the instruction. The retrieved image data is displayed on a display of the electronic device.

摘要: A source for generating microwaves using sequential switching of cascaded TEM transmission lines of arbitrary lengths charged to arbitrary voltages where the delay between any two switches is equal to or greater than the temporal length of the transmission line separating them, the first switch activated being the one closest to the load. The source uses an optimized transmission line and switch geometry which yields the highest possible power flow. Various folded configurations of the source which provides added compactness and simplified energizing are also disclosed.
