    Abstract: Orthogonal DMRS ports with resource block reuse in a single cell is provided. ABS comprises: a BBE and RUs. The BS transmits user data to each of a plurality of UEs on a PDSCH using a PRB allocation for the cell. The PRB and cell are the same for all UEs. The PRB comprises DMRS symbols. The BS transmits user data to each UE on the PDSCH using a respective non-intersecting subset of the RUs. No RU transmits user data on the PDSCH using the PRB to more than one UE. The BBE: determines non-intersecting sets of DMRS ports; assigns one set to each UE; and causes the BS to transmit UE-specific DMRS to UE on the DMRS ports in the set assigned to that UE using only a respective non-intersecting subset of RUs used for transmitting user data to that UE on the PDSCH using the PRB.

    Abstract: Among other things, a communication system comprising remote units, a reference timing source, a controller, a controller clock, and a remote unit clock. The remote units exchange radio frequency (RF) signals with mobile devices. The reference timing source is synchronized with a coordinated universal time (UTC) or a Global Positioning System (GPS). The controller clock is synchronized with the reference timing source and provides timing information to the controller. The remote unit clock is synchronized with the controller clock and provides timing information to a remote unit. The controller and the remote unit are configured to transmit time stamp messages to synchronize the controller clock and the remote unit clock, by avoiding contention between time stamp transmissions and baseband data transmissions or between time stamp transmissions of different remote units to the controller.

    Abstract: A communication system is provided. The communication system includes at least one radio point, each configured to exchange radio frequency (RF) signals with a user equipment (UE) at a site. The communication system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the at least one radio point. The controller is configured to determine a transmit power control (TPC) command for the UE based on a signal to interference plus noise (SINK) for the UE. The controller is also configured to determine a count (N) of consecutive uplink transmissions, from the UE, meeting at least one criteria.     Abstract: Systems and methods for geolocation of user equipment are provided. In one example, a system includes BBU(s) and radio units communicatively coupled to the BBU(s). Each radio unit is configured to receive uplink signals from a user equipment. The system further includes antennas communicatively coupled to the radio units. Each respective radio unit is communicatively coupled to a respective subset of the antennas. The BBU(s), the radio units, and the antennas are configured to implement a base station for wirelessly communicating with user equipment. One or more components of the system are configured to determine, for each respective radio unit, a respective propagation delay for the uplink signals from the user equipment for the respective radio unit. The at least one BBU entity is configured to jointly process the respective propagation delays for each respective radio unit to determine an estimated position of the user equipment.
