Abstract: A luminaire includes a first waveguide having a first primary light emitting surface directed in a first direction and a first secondary light emitting surface directed in a second direction. A second waveguide having a second primary light emitting surface directed in the second direction and a second secondary light emitting surface directed in the first direction. A first plurality of LEDs are optically coupled to the first waveguide and a second plurality of LEDs are optically coupled to the second waveguide. The first and second waveguides are independently operable. The first and second plurality of LEDs may comprise LED groups where each of the LED groups are independently controllable. The light emission pattern and light properties of the emitted light are controllable.

Abstract: According to an aspect of this disclosure, a lighting system comprises at least first and second luminaires wherein each luminaire comprises a housing, an optical waveguide suspended from the associated housing, and one or more LEDs disposed adjacent the optical waveguide. Further in accordance with this aspect, the system comprises circuitry disposed within the housing of the first luminaire wherein the circuitry comprises LED driving circuitry and power circuitry, the power circuitry provides power to the first luminaire and at least a second luminaire, and the second luminaire is modular.

Abstract: A lighting apparatus has an at least partially optically transmissive enclosure and a light source located in the enclosure that is operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path. A connector is secured to the base and is configured to receive a control module for providing control information to the LED light source. The control module is rotatably mounted relative to the enclosure. The control module may comprise a sensor that turns the light source off and on, changes the color of the light source or dims the light source upon detection of the stimulus. The enclosure has a bottom member and a mounting portion secured to the bottom support where the connector is located between the mounting portion and the bottom support.

Abstract: A sensor module is integrated into a lighting fixture. The sensor module includes one or more environmental sensors and can be readily installed in or removed from the lighting fixture. In one embodiment, a heatsink of the lighting fixture is configured to receive the sensor module. Readings from the environmental sensors may be passed to control electronics associated with the lighting fixture and used to control the light output of the lighting fixture. The readings may also be passed on to other lighting fixtures, which may also use the readings to control their light output.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for securing a light fixture to a static structure. The mounting assembly includes a bar and a securing member which has a bar-gripping portion and an arm portion extending from the bar-gripping portion and attachable to the static structure. The bar is secured with respect to a main body portion of the light fixture. The bar has an axis. The arm portion has an arm axis which is substantially orthogonal to the bar axis. In another aspect of this invention, the mounting assembly includes a fixture-holding portion and an arm portion secured to the fixture-holding portion. The fixture-holding portion is secured with respect to the light fixture. The arm portion configured for selective attachment to a substantially cylindrical static structure and a substantially planar surface.
