摘要： A manual apparatus for testing the vacuum of an evacuated vial. A cylindrical test enclosure having an access opening in the wall thereof is provided for the vial. A rotatable sleeve surrounds the enclosure and has a like access opening in registration with and rotatable to be in alignment with the access opening of the test enclosure. When the two access openings are rotated out of alignment, high voltage radio frequency power is applied to the exterior of the vial, and an intense flash of light occurs next to the vial to cause ionization of gas within the vial. The ionization current which results is indicative of the value of the vacuum within the vial.

摘要： A fluid flow control device of the type wherein piezoelectric spring-like benders operably are associated with impacting members, each capable of deforming a membrane to control flow past a valve seat upon change in the electrical condition of the benders. Each bender and impacting member is isolated from the fluid by the membrane. The benders may be mounted individually arranged side-by-side for multiple use or can be grouped in a comb-like configuration. A mounting is provided for the benders which permits the force exercised on the impacting member by the free end of the bender to be adjusted and maintains the electrical isolation of the benders one from the others. The mounting as installed provides a stationary or an adjustable fulcrum point and a clamping member cooperating with the fulcrum for fixing the adjustment. The mounting maintains the free end of the bender centered over the impacting member, enables initial deflection adjustment and further provides for electrical connection of the benders with a fixed receptacle. Where required, compensation is afforded for any differences in thickness between the assembled benders and the receptacle.

摘要： An electrically grounded, static absorbing drapery installation which employs a decorative conductive drapery fabric having disconnectable electrical connector means installed thereon for connection to the ground terminal of a conventional wall outlet for dissipating accumulated static charge. The electrical connector means do not interfere with opening and closing of the drapery in its installed condition. Also the electrical connector means can be selectively disconnected to permit cleaning or repair of the drapery.

摘要： An end channel member for office space dividing panels is provided. In section, the channel member includes a portion containing a vertical array of slots for receiving a bracket hook. The slotted portion is contained at the base of a recess with the surfaces defining the sides of the recess serving to capture the bracket hook and thereby prevent it from swaying from side-to-side. The longitudinal ends of the channel include post clips at least one of which is free to float to some extend so as to facilitate installation.

摘要： An electrical raceway assembly for use with a structure is provided. The elongated raceway is engageable to the structure and has a length, a transverse base and a pair of opposite upstanding sidewalls extending along the length to define at least one channel configured for retaining electrical wires. A locking element secures and detachably engages the raceway to a surface of the structure. In one embodiment, the locking element includes a mounting plate, a stud, a core, and a locking lever. The stud has a threaded first end, an opposite second end, and a shoulder between the first and second end. The threaded first end is insertable through an opening defined in the mounting plate to engage a threaded hole in the surface of the structure. The core has a rounded outer surface and defines a thru-hole for receiving the second end of the stud. The locking lever includes a handle portion and a rounded camming portion. The camming portion defines a chamber for rotatably housing the core and a wall defining a groove in communication with the chamber for receiving the second end of the stud. The wall defines a contoured camming surface surrounding one end of the groove. The locking lever is rotatable about the second axis of the core from a first released position to a second locked position with the camming surface bearing against the mounting plate to securely engage the raceway to the structure.

摘要： An automatic control for a liquid pump which assures that the pump starts pumping when the liquid reaches a predetermined level and the pump is stopped when the level has fallen to a second predetermined level. The control includes a permanent magnet mounted in a float that is contained within a float chamber and which has a bottom opening through which the liquid can enter the float chamber. A top portion of the float chamber is provided with a one-way valve so as to allow air to escape from the float chamber, but which prevents air from entering the float chamber such that when the float moves up with the liquid, the magnet actuates a magnetic responsive switch such as a reed switch to cause the motor to start to drive the pump. As the pump lowers the level of the liquid, the level of the liquid in the float chamber does not fall because of the partial vacuum within the top of the float chamber and, thus, the magnet continues to energize the pump. When the liquid level falls to the bottom of the float chamber, air rushes into the chamber and allows the retained liquid within the float chamber to fall out the bottom and the magnet bearing float falls to the bottom which turns off the pump motor.

摘要： A two-piece plastic signholder and subassembly therefor. The signholder includes a bracket having a floor and inclined bearing edges which bear against the assembled two substantially identical plastic pieces. The bracket and pieces are designed to provide a bias to ensure a top bearing surface between the upper portions of the two assembled pieces to securely hold signs therebetween. 摘要： An adapter for enabling a vertical slotted standard in the form of a steel bar to be mounted to a pair of back-to-back assembled sheet metal channel-shaped studs in a wall, the adapter being disposed within the wall and hidden from the exterior of the wall. The exterior covering of the wall comprises aligned adjacent wallboard members whose vertical adjacent edges engage against a pair of forwardly extending entrance flanges for receiving therein the shelf-supporting hooked end brackets which enter and engage within the slots of the standard. The wallboard members are secured to the studs with the same fasteners that connect a pair of wallboard-receiving wings of the adapter to the studs. The invention is concerned with means for anchoring the standard within the adapter and a method of effecting such anchoring during the assembly of the adapter.
