Abstract: A method of joining includes applying braze to a braze reservoir in a first component. A second component is engaged to the first component, wherein a joint location is defined between the first and second components. A wicking structure provides flow communication from the braze reservoir to the joint location. The method also includes joining the first and second components together at the joint location by applying heat to the braze to flow the braze from the reservoir through the wicking structure to the joint location to form a braze joint at the joint location.

Abstract: A combustor for a gas turbine engine includes an inner combustor wall and an outer combustor wall radially outboard of the inner combustor wall. The inner and outer combustor walls define a combustion space therebetween with an upstream inlet and a downstream outlet. A combustor dome connects between inner and outer combustor walls at the upstream inlet of the combustion space. The combustor dome includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart nozzles and a plurality of tiles mounted to the combustor dome to fluidly separate a downstream side of the combustor dome from an upstream side of the combustor dome.

Abstract: A nozzle assembly includes a nozzle body defining an inlet and an opposed spray outlet for producing a spray of fluid supplied at the inlet. The nozzle body includes a radially outward extending retainer feature. An adapter having an adapter bore therethrough is provided for supplying fluid to the inlet of the nozzle body. The nozzle body is engaged within the bore of the adapter. Abstract: An injection system includes an inner nozzle body defining a first air path along a longitudinal axis. The first air path defines a converging-diverging section between an upstream portion of the first air path and an outlet orifice of the first air path. Abstract: An embodiment of an ignition system for a gas turbine engine includes a high pressure engine case, a torch ignitor disposed at least partially within the high pressure engine case, the torch ignitor having a combustion chamber oriented about a torch axis, the combustion chamber having axially upstream and downstream ends defining a flow direction through the combustion chamber, along the axis. The ignition system also includes an access hatch configured to allow access through a high pressure engine case to the cap and to seal against the high pressure engine case when not accessing the cap. An embodiment of a method includes removing a hatch from a high pressure engine case to open a hatch opening, performing maintenance on a torch ignitor that is inside the high pressure engine case by accessing the torch ignitor through the hatch opening, replacing the hatch to close the hatch opening after completion of maintenance on the torch ignitor.

Abstract: A fuel injector system includes an outer support and an inner support, with a feed arm extending radially between the inner support and the outer support. Abstract: A fuel system includes a fuel supply system. A plurality of fuel nozzles are connected in fluid communication with the fuel supply system to supply fuel from a fuel source to be issued for combustion from the fuel nozzles. A cooling system is included, wherein at least one of the fuel nozzles includes a cooling circuit in addition to a fuel circuit for issuing fuel from the fuel supply system for combustion. The cooling circuit includes an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is in fluid communication with the cooling system for circulation of coolant through the cooling circuit and back to the cooling system out the outlet of the cooling circuit for cooling the fuel circuit with the fuel circuit staged off.
