    Abstract: A fluid nozzle includes a first fluid circuit, a second fluid circuit spaced apart from the first fluid circuit and a fuel circuit. The fuel circuit is defined between the first and second fluid circuits and between a first fuel circuit wall and a second fuel circuit wall. A ring-shaped permeable barrier is positioned between the first and second fuel circuit walls configured and adapted to provide a controlled resistance to fuel flow. A fuel distributor includes a first fuel circuit wall and a second fuel circuit wall spaced apart from the first fuel circuit wall. A fuel circuit is defined between the first and second fuel circuit walls. A ring-shaped permeable barrier is positioned between first and second fuel circuit walls. A combustion assembly includes a combustor housing, a combustor dome positioned at an upstream end of the combustor housing, and a fluid nozzle positioned adjacent the combustor dome.

    Abstract: An atomizer includes an atomizer body with a plurality of air passages defined therethrough from an upstream end of the atomizer body to a downstream end thereof. The air passages together define an air circuit through the atomizer body. A fuel circuit is defined in the atomizer body extending from a fuel inlet to a respective fuel outlet opening into each air passage. The air passages can be arranged circumferentially about a central axis defined by the atomizer body. The fuel circuit can include a manifold extending circumferentially about the atomizer body in fluid communication with a fuel opening in each respective air passage.

    Abstract: A swirler, such as for swirling air in a fuel injector of a gas turbine engine, includes a swirler body with opposed inlet and outlet ends with a swirler wall extending therebetween along a longitudinal axis. The inlet end of the swirler body defines an inlet opening. A plurality of swirl slots is defined through a portion of the swirler wall that converges toward the longitudinal axis in a direction from the inlet opening toward the outlet end of the swirler body. The swirl slots are radially off-set with respect to the longitudinal axis for imparting swirl on a flow passing from the inlet opening, through the swirl slots, and past the outlet end of the swirler body.

A second flow channel can be included in fluid communication with the swirl ante-chamber. The second flow channel feeds into the swirl ante-chamber in cooperation with or in opposition to the first flow channel. The first flow channel, second flow channel, and swirl ante-chamber are configured and adapted to adjust spray angle of a spray issuing from the injection point orifice by varying flow apportionment among the first and second flow channels.

The nozzle includes an outer gas flow path, an inner gas flow path radially inward from the outer gas flow path, a liquid flow path defined radially between the inner gas flow path and the outer gas flow path and a core conduit defined radially inward from the inner gas flow path.
