    Abstract: A laminate is capable of forming an orientation film formed by orienting a rod-like liquid crystal compound or a disk-like liquid crystal compound having a horizontal orientation ability or a vertical orientation ability with respect to a surface of the laminate, on the surface, by using an orientation restraining force of the surface, the laminate including: a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. An optical film sequentially includes: a support; a cholesteric liquid crystal layer; and an orientation film.

    Abstract: A fluorine-containing copolymer composition includes repeating units derived from a fluorine-containing monomer represented by Formula (I) and from a monomer having at least two polymerizable groups, in which the latter is 3% by mass or more with respect to a total mass of the fluorine-containing copolymer, and the former is 15% by mass or more with respect to a total solid content in the composition, in the Formula (I), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R2 represents a group having at least one fluorine atom; and L1 represents a divalent linking group including at least one selected from the group consisting of —O—, —(C═O)O—, —O(C═O)—, —(C═O)NH—, —NH(C═O)—, a divalent aromatic group which may have a substituent, a divalent aliphatic chain group which may have a substituent, and a divalent aliphatic cyclic group which may have a substituent.

    Abstract: Provide a cellulose acylate film with small photoelastic coefficient, low moisture content and low haze, and a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device using the same. Also provided is a cellulose acylate film including at least cellulose acylate and a resin produced by hydrogenating a polymer containing a repeating unit derived from a monomer represented by the formula (1) below and hydroxyl group: in the formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or C1-5 alkyl group; each R2 represents a hydrogen atom or substituent, at least one of (R2)s being a hydroxyl group-containing substituent; moiety (A) may form, or does not necessarily form, a five- or six-membered ring; n represents an integer of 1 to 5, and when n is 2 or larger, the plurality of (R2)s may be same with or different from each other.

    Abstract: A polarizing plate includes two protective films and a polarizer provided between the two protective films, and the polarizer has a thickness of 3 μm to 18 μm, at least one of the protective films has a thickness of 3 μm to 40 μm and contains at least one resin and a compound in an amount of 1 part by mass to 20 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the resin, the compound having at least one hydrogen-donating group capable of forming a hydrogen bond and a ratio of molecular weight to number of aromatic rings of 300 or less, and the polarizing plate has a thickness of 15 μm to 70 μm.
