    Abstract: A sensor lens cleaning system for a cylindrical sensor having a sensor lens surface includes an extended member having a first end coupled to the cylindrical sensor and a second end opposite the first end, a nozzle coupled to the second end of the extended member, an actuator coupled to the extended member and configured to control the extended member, and a controller in electronic communication with the actuator and configured to communicate an actuator control signal to the actuator. The nozzle generates an air stream directed at the sensor lens surface.

    Abstract: A system for assisting a vehicle having a trailer includes a drone having at least one sensor adapted to collect sensor data. The drone is selectively attachable to the vehicle. A controller is in communication with the drone. The controller is adapted to selectively execute an assessment mode, an operational mode, and a delivery mode, the operational mode being executed after the assessment mode is completed. The drone is adapted to conduct a set of initial checks during the assessment mode, the drone being adapted to fly around the trailer and/or the vehicle during the assessment mode. The drone is attached to the vehicle during the operational mode. The delivery mode is executed upon arrival of the vehicle at a predefined destination, the drone being adapted to be in flight during the delivery mode.

    Abstract: Presented are intelligent vehicle communications (comm) systems provisioning enhanced vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless mesh network (WMN) hop propagation, methods for making/using such systems, and vehicles equipped with such systems. A method of controlling operation of a host vehicle includes a vehicle controller determining the host vehicle is incapacitated and then detecting the host vehicle's wireless comm device is unable to connect to a cellular or satellite communications system. Responsive to such insufficient connectivity, the controller broadcasts a V2X WMN distress message containing data specific to the host vehicle and data specific to the host vehicle's incapacitating event. Upon receipt of the distress message, a recipient vehicle's controller determines if a prior distress message for the incapacitating vehicle event was previously received and if the distress message exceeds any preset multi-hop restrictions. If yes to either, the resident controller disables retransmission of the distress message to other recipient nodes over the WMN.

    Abstract: A method of integrating a lidar system in a vehicle involves disposing one or more receive portions of the lidar system in one or more first locations of the vehicle and fabricating an integrated transmit portion of the lidar system to be disposed in a second location of the vehicle.     Abstract: A method of assembly includes providing a sensor having an electronic sensing unit operable to emit or receive light rays and a clear substrate attached to the electronic sensing unit. The method also includes providing a tubular protective wrap having a central orifice. The protective wrap has a transparent film layer and an interstitial layer. The interstitial layer is disposed on an interior surface of the film layer proximate the orifice. The method additionally includes disposing the protective wrap about the electronic sensing unit. The method further includes shrinking the protective wrap via application of heat such that the interstitial layer contacts at least a portion of the sensor with the film layer superposed over at least a portion of the clear substrate.

    Abstract: Methods of mapping buildings for first responders, include using a smart device app to identify data related to entrances and exits in the building; storing the data in a centralized location or smart device app; and providing the data from the centralized location to the first responders in emergency situations. The methods may include recognizing patterns of the entrances and exits with the smart device app, the smart device app collects images, such that important objects recognizing in the collected images with the smart device app. A drone may be used to assist in mapping the building and measurements, such that the images collected by the drone are subject to important object recognition. The data to create augmented reality maps that are provided to first responders in emergency situations. Third-party devices may contribute to mapping the building and external factors mapped, including type of access to house, driveway, elevation.
