Abstract: Methods and systems for a vehicle cognitive radar are provided. The system includes a transmitter is configured to transmit a first plurality of transmittal signals for a cognitive radar system of a vehicle, the cognitive radar system having at least a first modality. An interface is configured to receive sensor data from one or more sensors having a second modality that is different from the first modality. A processor is coupled to the interface, and is configured to select an adjusted waveform for a second plurality of transmittal signals for the cognitive radar system using the sensor data.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a radar system. The radar system comprises a plurality of distributed radar units and a centralized radar processing unit. The plurality of distributed radar units are each configured to obtain respective radar signals. Each of the plurality of distributed radar units are disposed at a different respective location of a mobile platform. The centralized radar processing unit is disposed within the mobile platform, coupled to each of the plurality of distributed radar units, and configured to directly process the radar signals from each of the plurality of distributed radar units.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for object classification for a radar system of a vehicle. The radar system includes a transmitter that transmits radar signals and a receiver that receives return radar signals after the transmitted radar signals are deflected from an object proximate the vehicle. A processor is coupled the receiver, and is configured to: obtain spectrogram data from a plurality of spectrograms pertaining to the object based on the received radar signals; aggregate the spectrogram data from each of the plurality of spectrograms into a computer vision model; and classify the object based on the aggregation of the spectrogram data from each of the plurality of spectrograms into the computer vision model.
