    摘要: Methods for manufacturing composite components having complex geometries are provided. In one exemplary aspect, a method includes laying up each of a plurality of laminates to an initial shape with a substantially planar geometry or a gently curved geometry. Then, a laid up laminate is formed to a final shape for each predefined section defined by the composite component to be manufactured. Thereafter, the laminates formed to their respective final shapes are stacked to build up the complex geometry of the composite component. Next, the composite component can be cured and finish machined as necessary to form the completed composite component.

    摘要: Acoustic cores and methods for forming and for assembling acoustic cores are provided. For example, an acoustic core of a gas turbine engine comprises a first attenuation section having a first plurality of attenuation members and a first mating wall having a planar first mating surface. The first mating wall is integrally formed with at least a portion of the first plurality of attenuation members and defines a portion of a perimeter of the first attenuation section. A method for forming an acoustic core comprises additively manufacturing a first attenuation section of the acoustic core, which comprises a first plurality of attenuation members and a first mating wall that are integrally formed as a single unit. A method for assembling an acoustic core comprises applying an adhesive to mating surfaces of first and second attenuation sections and pressing together the mating surfaces to join the first and second attenuation sections.

    摘要: An acoustic liner and a method of attenuating noise are provided. The acoustic liner includes a face sheet, a back sheet spaced from the face sheet, and a core layer extending between the face sheet and the back sheet. The core layer includes a plurality of resonant cells, each resonant cell including at least one cell wall coupled to the back sheet along a cell wall base edge. The at least one cell wall extends from the back sheet at an angle toward the face sheet. The at least one cell wall further coupled to the face sheet along a cell wall top edge. The resonant cell is formed in a predetermined shape and contains a volume in a space defined by the at least one cell wall, the back sheet, and the face sheet. The cell wall base edge length is greater than the cell wall top edge length.
