摘要： A musical instrument including an actuator which generates a plurality of signals in response to being played by a user; an audio synthesizer which generates audio tones in response to control signals; a memory storing a musical score for the actuator; a video display unit; and a digital processing means controlling the audio synthesizer and the video display unit. The stored musical score includes a sequence of lead notes each of which has an associated time stamp to identify a time at which it is supposed to be played in the musical score. The digital processing means is programmed to map the plurality of signals to a corresponding subsequence of lead notes from among the sequence of lead notes; it is programmed to produce a sequence of control signals from the subsequence of lead notes for causing the synthesizer to generate sounds representing the subsequence of lead notes; it is programmed to display on the video display unit a trace indicating when the lead notes of the sequence of lead notes are supposed to be played by the user as a function of time; and it is programmed to display relative to that trace an indicator marking where the user is supposed to be within the musical score as a function of an elapsed real time.

摘要： A package liner adapted to protect fragile articles during shipment, handling and display in retail establishments. The liner is made of an elongated, flexible packaging material, such as a single face corrugated paper pad, having a pair of spaced, oppositely disposed, outwardly bowed lines of weakness impressed across its central width. When the ends of the liner are folded upwardly and flexed into a generally tubular conformation, the area between the lines of weakness assumes a downwardly concave shape. The resulting U-shaped structure is adapted to receive the article therewithin and cushion it against breakage when the package is dropped or exposed to lateral shock forces.

摘要： The disclosure describes a method of dynamically creating real-time presentations responsive to search expressions. The method comprises retrieving information from search engines, parsing the retrieved information to create dynamically a structured document including mark-up tags, and rendering the structured document as a slide show presentation of images by a multimedia presentation module. The structured document may be editable, annotatable, storable, and publishable by a user viewing the slide show presentation on the client device. The information retrieved from the one or more search engines may be restricted to one or more specified web domains. Pertinent textual information about the object of interest may also be retrieved along with the image information for convenient review by the user. Each displayed image in the slideshow presentation may have an embedded hyperlink to the source page of the image.

After a period of time which allows additional programmable devices to request configuration elapses, the main controller polls the programmable devices residing on the cards to determine which of the programmable devices had requested configuration and, using the configuration information maintained in the shared configuration information repository, configures each programmable device which had requested configuration.

摘要： A mixing syringe and method for using the mixing syringe are provided. The mixing syringe comprises a housing having a first compartment for containing a first component, an outer plunger having a second compartment for containing a second component, and an inner plunger. Prior to use, a seal separates the first and second components. To prepare the mixture, the seal is pierced and the two components are mixed. The mixing syringe and its method of use are particularly suited to applications in which at least one of the mixture components is a relatively highly viscous material.

摘要： A laser pulse fiber optic neutron detector which is capable of discriminating against background neutrons and gamma rays while measuring both the energy of an incoming neutron and its direction has a sensor having a plurality of vertically-stacked organic fiber light pipes and a reflector at one end of the light pipes. Ionized tracks in the light pipes caused by neutron radiation are detected by directing pulsed laser radiation into one end of the light pipes and detecting the laser radiation backscattered and reflected from the light pipes.
