摘要: Disclosed is a detector unit for tracking high energy particles that has a first panel having a first surface, a second surface and a first support member. The detector unit has a second panel having a first surface, a second surface and a second support member. The detector unit further includes a plurality of first fibres and a plurality of second fibres. The first panel is stacked upon the second panel such that second surface of first panel and second surface of second panel are facing each other. The plurality of first fibres and second fibres have two or more layers of first fibres and second fibres arranged in an interlocking manner in a first set and a second set of parallel grooves of the first panel and second panel.

摘要: A medical imaging system includes a first tracking detector and a second tracking detector. The tracking detectors are spaced to allow for an object to be present between the first tracking detector and the second tracking detector. The system also includes a residual range detector adjacent the first tracking detector. The residual range detector includes: (1) a scintillator material having a first surface at least partially covered with an anti-reflection material and a second surface facing the first tracking detector and (2) at least one photon detector coupled to the scintillator material at a third surface of the scintillator material different than the first surface and opposite the second surface.

摘要: A high sensitivity, three-dimensional gamma ray detection and imaging system is provided. The system uses the Compton double scatter technique with recoil electron tracking. The system preferably includes two detector subassemblies a silicon microstrip hodoscope and a calorimeter. In this system the incoming photon Compton scatters in the hodoscope. The scattered gamma ray could be absorbed by the calorimeter, or the calorimeter could act as a second scatter layer. The recoil electron in the hodoscope is tracked through several detector planes until it stops. The x and y position signals from the first two planes of the electron track could be used to determine the direction of the recoil electron while the energy loss from all planes could be used to determine the energy of the recoil electron.

摘要: Diffractometer and method for diffraction analysis making use of two Euler cradles, a primary and a secondary Euler cradle. 摘要: A detector for radon concentrations is provided having a housing, a cover member and a track registration device. The housing has a groove defined by a base, an inner wall and an outer wall with the inner wall and the outer wall extending from the base. The cover member has a side wall and is supported on the housing. The side wall intersects the groove thereby forming a U-shaped channel. The U-shaped channel creates a path for entry of radon concentrations from an exterior of the housing to an interior of the housing. The track registration mechanism is supported entirely within the housing and is capable of developing tracks thereon caused by radon-generated alpha particles.
