摘要: A patient bracelet system is provided having at least one bracelet adapted to be worn about a portion of the lower arm of a patient wherein the bracelet has means to secure the bracelet about the arm. The securing means comprises a plurality of bulbous projections extending from one surface of one end of the bracelet and a plurality of grooves adapted for receiving the bulbous projections therein in at least one surface of the bracelet in an end opposite the first end, the grooves additionally being adapted to receive a portion of a medicant delivery system therein. In one embodiment, at least two bracelets are secured about the forearm in spaced relation one to the other by stay means, each of the stay means being adapted to be secured in at least one of the plurality of grooves in each of the bracelets.

摘要: A greatly improved aseptic processing apparatus and method for pumpable foods is provided which gives accurate, uniform aseptic cooking conditions (e.g, time, temperature and pressure) while at the same time preserving the integrity of particulates in the food product. In preferred forms, the apparatus includes a reciprocating piston food pump which generates a continuous product stream at a substantially constant nominal pressure. This stream is fed to a heat exchanger in order to elevate the temperature of the product, whereupon the stream passes through a holding tube to complete the aseptic cooking process. A metering device such as a rotary pump is located downstream of the holding tube for creating a substantially constant flow rate of product from the apparatus. Use of a downstream metering device in conjunction with an upstream constant pressure pump permits attainment of even, relatively high system pressures which in turn facilitates accurate temperature control and eliminates localized internal steam flashing which can deleteriously affect product quality. By virtue of the present apparatus and method, aseptic processing of low acid heterogeneous food products such as stews and chilies can be safely accomplished on a commercial scale.

摘要: Sausages or other articles having initial lengths several times longer than their final, packaged lengths are automatically severed to their proper dimensions, accumulated into multisausage clusters and then inserted into awaiting containers, all automatically. Each long initial length of material is initially severed into separate lengths, then gathered into side-by-side relationship with other severed lengths, then severed a second time into the final length. The final lengths are then arranged into generally cylindrically configured clusters for axial packing into the awaiting containers. Special handling techniques are used throughout the process so as to render the system fully automated without damaging the materials or failing to pack the prescribed number of materials into each container.

摘要: An improved shaft sealing assembly (18) for use with an elongated, axially rotatable shaft (14) typically forming a part of a blender (10) or similar device is provided, which permits rapid, easy seal repair without the need for complete breakdown of the blender (10). The assembly (18) includes a tubular sleeve adapted to be disposed about the shaft (14) at the region of a shaft/blender wall interface, with an annular sealing body (42) disposed about the sleeve (40) in a sealing position and supporting a seal (66) which engages the sleeve (40) at a first sealing location (66a) thereon. A lock device (48) operably to maintain the sealing body (42) in its sealing position is provided, and the sleeve (40) is selectively movable relative to shaft (14) and sealing body (42) so as to change the sealing location from the first location (66a) to a second, different sealing location (66b). The sleeve 40 can also be easily replaced if desired.

摘要: An end-cutting and stripping station for removing casings from sausages is disclosed. The station comprises a carousel having end-cutting units spaced around its perimeter. The carousel is connected to a conveyor, each unit receiving a sausage as the conveyor advances. Each unit includes a sausage support and a carriage slidably mounted below the support. An actuator is connected between the carriage and the carousel. As the actuator retracts, sensor fingers on the carriage slidingly engage a sausage on the support. When the finger tips reach the bottom end of the sausage, the fingers move inwardly, actuating a control valve and halting the carriage. A casing cutter is then actuated to cut off the lower end of the casing above the finger tips. As the conveyor exits the carousel, a pair of stripper bars positioned below the conveyor engage the tops of the sausages and force them out of the casings.

摘要: An improved floor drain assembly (10) is provided which includes an upright inlet section (12) presenting a waste inlet (30) and an outlet section (14) terminating in a discharge end (16). The assembly (10) includes an oblique first wall (26b) below the inlet (30) for diverting waste materials towards the end (16); a second oblique wall (82) spaced from the wall (26b) and a third wall (28a) intermediate the walls (26b, 82) complete an in-line trap (18). The inlet (30) is equipped with a grate (46) and a perforate filter (50). The wall (26b) serves to forcefully divert waste material through the assembly (10) to minimize clogging problems.
