    Abstract: An electric machine is provided. The electric machine may comprise an inlet and a stator fluidly coupled to the inlet. The stator may comprise a first cooling channel formed in the stator with a first cross-sectional area. A second cooling channel may be formed in the stator and have a second cross-sectional area. The first cross-sectional area may be less than the second cross-sectional area. The electric machine may also include an outlet fluidly coupled to the stator. A stator assembly is also provided. The stator assembly may include a first channel with a first cross-sectional area and a second channel with a second cross-sectional area. The second cross-sectional area may be less than the first cross-sectional area.

    Abstract: A phase separator for an electric machine includes a first insulator and a second insulator. The first and second insulators each include a leg portion and an endturn portion connected to the leg portion. The endturn portion is asymmetric with respect to an axis defined by the leg portion such that the second insulator can be inverted and disposed in an overlapping arrangement for electrically insulating endturn portions of adjacent phase windings.

    Abstract: A stator core is provided and includes laminations disposed in a laminated arrangement to form a stator core body having an axial length extending in a lamination dimension. The stator core body includes an annular portion extending along the axial length, teeth extending radially from the annular portion and along the axial length and fins. Each tooth is formed to define one or more holes running along the axial length. The fins extend circumferentially across each of the one or more holes.

    Abstract: Aircraft electric motors include a rotor having magnet segments arranged on a frame of the rotor, the rotor defining an internal cavity radially inward from the magnet segments. An output shaft is operably coupled to the rotor and a stator, having a yoke and at least one winding wrapped about stator teeth, is arranged within the internal cavity of the rotor. The stator defines a radial span as a distance from the yoke to a radial outward edge of the at least one winding. The plurality of stator teeth have at least one tooth formed from a magnetic material with the tooth having an engagement end configured to engaged with the yoke, a distal end opposite the engagement end, and a shaped end at the distal end of the tooth, with a portion of the tooth at the shaped end being closer to the yoke than the radial span.
