Abstract: An inkjet printer can include an inkjet printhead to print an image on a print medium, and a dryer to reduce or remove moisture from the image. A post-printing treatment fluid can also be present which can include water and a flatness control agent, the flatness control agent including an organic solvent with three or more hydroxyl groups, and a vapor pressure less than 2×10−4 mmHg. A fluid dispenser can be included to apply the post-printing treatment fluid on the print medium after the moisture from the image is reduced or removed. Additionally, the printer can include a mechanical calendering device to apply pressure to the print medium after application and while the print medium is still moistened by the post-printing treatment fluid.

The coating can include, by dry weight, 5 wt % to 60 wt % of a polymeric binder having a Tg below 50 C, 10 wt % to 60 wt % of cationic latex having a Tg from 50 C to 130 C, 5 wt % to 30 wt % of a multivalent cationic salt, and 2 wt % to 25 wt % of a high density polyethylene wax.

Abstract: An example of a printable recording medium includes a base substrate and an ink-receiving layer. The ink-receiving layer includes an inorganic pigment in an amount equal to or greater than 70 wt % and an ink-fixing agent in an amount ranging from about 3 wt % to about 10 wt % based on the total wt % of the ink-receiving layer. The inorganic pigment has a median particle size ranging from about 0.5 μm to about 5 μm. The ink-receiving layer excludes precipitated calcium carbonate.

Abstract: A coated print medium can include a base stock having a basis weight of 35 gsm to 250 gsm, and a coating layer applied to the base stock at from 1 gsm to 50 gsm by dry weight. The base stock can include from 65 wt % to 95 wt % cellulose fiber with 20 wt % to 100 wt % being mechanical pulp, and from 5 wt % to 35 wt % inorganic pigment filler. The coating layer can include inorganic pigment particles having an average equivalent spherical diameter from 0.2 μm to 3.5 μm; a fixative agent including metal salt, cationic amine polymer, quaternary ammonium salt, quaternary phosphonium salt, or mixture thereof; and a polymer blend including water soluble polymer and water dispersible polymer having a Zeta potential greater than −40 mV, wherein a weight ratio water soluble polymer to water dispersible polymer is from 1:25 to 1:1.

Abstract: A packaging print medium can include a cellulose-based substrate having a printing side and a back side, a fixative sizing layer on a printing side of the cellulose-based substrate, a primer layer on the back side of the cellulose-based substrate, and a hydrophobic moisture barrier including a hydrophobic polymer film on the primer layer. The fixative sizing layer can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 15 μm and can include a multivalent metal salt and a starch sizing agent. The primer layer can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 15 μm and can include a styrene-butadiene film. The hydrophobic moisture barrier can have a thickness from 0.5 μm to 10 μm.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printing process that comprises applying a radiation-curable primer composition onto a substrate to form a primer layer. The primer composition comprises a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. An inkjet ink composition is inkjet printed onto the primer layer as a printed inkjet ink layer. The inkjet ink composition comprises a colorant, a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. The curable polyurethane is dispersed in the inkjet ink composition in an amount of composition is 0.1 to 30 weight % of the inkjet ink composition. The printed inkjet ink layer is cured on the substrate by exposing both the primer layer and printed inkjet ink layer on the substrate to radiation.
