摘要: A biodegradable filter for the removal of various pollutants, contaminants, or harmful substances from the surrounding air, and a method of fabrication. The filter includes 30% by weight of cellulose nanofibers, 30% by weight of activated carbon, and 20% by weight of polyethylene glycol. The cellulose nanofibers and activated carbon are isolated from date palm biomass, making the filter cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

摘要: The present disclosure describes methods of treating fibrous cellulosic materials with sucrose fatty acid ester containing particles (carrier systems) that allow for modifications of surfaces, including making such surfaces water resistance and/or oil/grease resistance. The methods as disclosed provide combining at least one saccharide fatty acid esters (SFAE) with a polymer (e.g., latexes) to form micellular particles and applying such particles to substrates including fibrous cellulose-based materials (e.g., pulp) to form, inter alia, molded products. Compositions comprising combinations of SFAE, a latex and optionally a mineral or other additives are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a molded product of the present disclosure includes a deposition step of depositing a mixture including a fiber and starch in air, a humidification step of applying water to the mixture, and a molding step of heating and pressurizing the mixture applied with water to obtain a molded product. The starch has a gelatinized and then pulverized particle diameter d50 of 0.30 mm or more and 1.0 mm or less, which is the average particle diameter of the finely pulverized product determined by a prescribed measuring method.

摘要: A method for obtaining a fibrous preparation for manufacturing a paper having significant water repellency and opacity in the dry or wet state. Fibres are suspended in water; calcium salts are added to the fibres; a source of carbonate salts in the form of an aqueous solution are added and the resulting mixture is stirred for a time sufficient to allow calcium carbonate particles to be precipitated. A solution of fatty acid salts heated to a temperature which corresponds to the micellisation temperature of said fatty acid salts is added and takes into account the critical micellar concentration of the fatty acid salts. The mixture is stirred thus obtained for a time sufficient to allow the fatty acids to be absorbed at the surface of the calcium carbonate particles and to obtain the desired fibrous preparation.

摘要: Fiberboard sheet materials containing cellulosic fibers ae disclosed in which cellulose nanofibrils are used as a binder for adhering the cellulosic fibers together. The cellulose nanofibrils are present in an amount of 0.5% to 7.5% by weight on a dry weight basis of the fiberboard sheet. The fiberboard sheet materials have strength properties that meet or exceed the requirements in ASTM C208, and are useful for structural sheathing and roofing board applications. A process for manufacturing the fiberboard sheet is also disclosed.

The polyvinyl alcohol can be present in an amount of at least 8 wt % of all dry components of the primer composition. The cationic salt can be present in an amount of at least 15 wt % of all dry components of the primer composition. The polyvinyl alcohol and cationic salt together can make up at least 30 wt % of all dry components of the primer composition.
