    Abstract: A communication method and an apparatus are provided, where the method includes: determining, by a base station, a pre-configured value; and sending, by the base station, a downlink subframe in a first subframe, where the downlink subframe carries a control format indicator and a physical downlink control channel, the control format indicator is used to indicate a quantity of symbols occupied by the physical downlink control channel, and the base station determines a value of the control format indicator based on the pre-configured value or the quantity of symbols occupied by the physical downlink control channel that needs to be sent in the downlink subframe. In this case, in a WCE scenario, PCFICH coverage enhancement may not be performed any longer, and therefore resource consumption is reduced and impact on PDCCH performance is avoided.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of wireless communications technologies, and provides a communication method. The method includes: in response to detecting that a carrier is idle, determining, by a base station, a first subframe that is used for sending downlink synchronization signals, where the downlink synchronization signals include a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal; and sending the downlink synchronization signals to a terminal in the first subframe based on a subframe number of the first subframe and a first correspondence. Correspondingly, the terminal performs detection of the synchronization signals, and performs frame timing based on at least location information of the secondary synchronization signal in the first subframe and the first correspondence. In this way, downlink synchronization in an LBT mechanism can be implemented.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide an anchor channel transmission method and apparatus, and a communications apparatus. According to the method, an anchor channel occupies a lowest frequency or a highest frequency of a system bandwidth, and power boosting is performed on at least the anchor channel. According to technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application, the anchor channel may occupy the lowest frequency or the highest frequency of the system bandwidth, other anchor channels are adjacent to the anchor channel, and anchor channels in the other anchor channels are adjacent to each other, so that when power boosting is performed on one or more anchor channels, a smallest quantity of RBs lose powers.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide methods for detecting or sending a discovery signal, associated base station, and associated user equipment. A method includes: performing, by a base station, first carrier sense on first R subframes of one radio frame in a time sequence in a first discovery signal measurement timing (DMTC) window; and if the first carrier sense succeeds, sending, by the base station, a discovery signal in M consecutive subframes, where M is greater than or equal to 2, and the first subframe of the M consecutive subframes is located in the radio frame in the first DMTC window. The embodiments of this application are used to support enhanced discovery signal transmission by using a new DMTC, so that to implement accessing UE in a weak coverage scenario, thereby ensuring cell coverage performance.
