Abstract: A data migration method and an apparatus are applied to a scenario in which a user plane gateway communicating with a terminal is changed from a source user plane gateway to a target user plane gateway. The target user plane gateway receives an address of the terminal from a control plane gateway, obtains an Ethernet data packet based on the address of the terminal, and sends the Ethernet data packet to an Ethernet interface, so that a switch obtains the Ethernet data packet through the Ethernet interface, and updates a MAC address table based on the Ethernet data packet.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a failure handling method, a packet data network, a mobility management entity, and a network system. The failure handling method includes: receiving, by a packet data network gateway P-GW, downlink data after detecting that a failure occurs in an associated first S-GW; and sending, by the P-GW, a notification message to a mobility management entity MME by using a second S-GW, where the notification message includes an identifier of the P-GW and an identifier of a user, so that when determining that the identifier of the P-GW included in the notification message is different from a P-GW identifier corresponding to a context identifier of the user, the MME refuses to initiate a procedure for recovering from the failure in the first S-GW. The embodiments of the present invention can prevent a failure recovery procedure from being executed multiple times, and lighten signaling load.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a bearer handover control device and control method. The method includes: receiving, by a network side device, a bearer handover message; and determining, by the network side device according to the bearer handover message, a bearer needing to be handed over in all bearers, so that an end marker End Marker message is sent to a source base station only for the bearer needing to be handed over. By using the foregoing solutions, for a multi-connection scenario, a network side device can determine a bearer needing to be handed over, so that an end marker message is sent only for the bearer needing to be handed over, which can prevent discarding of subsequent data of a bearer that is not to be handed over, and ensure multiple connections between a UE and base stations, thereby improving stability of a system.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a downlink data transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a user plane device, downlink data of a terminal, sending, by the user plane device, the downlink data by using a shared bearer to an access network device that is in a tracking area of the terminal, receiving, by the access network device, a context setup request message sent by a control plane device, setting up, by the access network device, a radio bearer between the access network device and the terminal based on the context setup request message, and sending, by the access network device, the downlink data to the terminal by using the radio bearer.
